Any word on when the vendors will be releasing their cards?

I think we are all waiting to hear that, well I know I am.

I so want a 290 but not with the reference cooler.

If a Gigabyte Windforce 290 version appeared now on the site I would be buying quicker than I thought possible

I think half the world is waiting for non reference cards. These are going to be even more of a bargain come their first price cuts, which we might see end of q1 next year? Less than 300 for a well cooled 290 would be awesome.

Memory doesn't like overclock very well at all on 290 bios's for me.

As far as i'm aware you can't unlock the shaders on a 290. Most likely locked via hardware instead of in the bios unlike such as the 6950/6970 days. Would be extremely awesome if you could though HA

But people are flashing just for the clocks.

hmm no standard 290 + mk26 custom cards from ocuk, good thing or bad thing !

Graphic card companies with non reference coolers still got 5 weeks before Santas sacks get full of mantle, and here's hoping for a white Xmas.

If I go ahead and buy the 290 with the mk cooler I'll post a bunch of results for comparison wit the 290x etc. Got to decide what to buy tomorrow arghhh!
