What's that got to do with the poll?
What he said isn't true anyway. Looks like the supply of PS4 will be much better thsn XB1. (Judging by the numbrr of countries they are launching in.

You won't be able to buy a PS4.
I am actually an Xbox 360 user, but from where I'm standing, Sony seems to care more about me than Microsoft does.
I've got personal sources who work in supplier management for a large retail group. I'll take their word over hearsay.

Buy a PS4 and then plug it in via the HDMI pass through on a Xbox One - switch between both consoles at the drop of a hat!! *
*this may not be the most economical approach to console gaming![]()
I suppose the possibility is with MS limiting XO to fewer markets they may have more consoles available in those markets although Sony may have more PS4 available globally. Sort of depends how key those markets are to you for a head start if that's the case I guess. If it allows you to outsell PS4 in the US and UK by 2:1 at the expense of France and Brazil it might be a gamble worth taking, or a massive screw up... Or (and much more likely) me just blind guessingThat's a massive shame if true. Although to be fair, 1 retail group being short on supply doesnt mean a country of retail chains is going to be struggling. I work for a large retail and logistics company myself, and we've experienced shortages. Our shortage doesn't always echo to other retailers. Much to our dismay sometimes![]()

Doesn't matter. XBox one will be available in much higher quantities before Christmas.
If little johnny gets the choice of no Christmas present or an Xbox one, what's he going to pick?

I suspect that will be the case for lot of Christmas presents from parents.also my sister and brother in-law will buy the cheaper of consoles only whatever the brand.![]()

Still happy to watch the launch from a distance
Even though I've got about 20 PS3 PS+ games I've not even touched yet.You are clearly much more sensible than me. With 2 hours to go before my ASDA preorder deadline lapsed, I caved in and parted with the money. Ok, staff discount helps soften the blow, but I'm still not sure why I need a PS4.Still happy to watch the launch from a distance, see what happens and which one comes out on top.

Still happy to watch the launch from a distance, see what happens and which one comes out on top. My money is on the ps4, and most likely for me to get if I do decide, however there's no real excitement here like the last gen release. I can actually seeing this passing me by, maybe I'm just getting too old.![]()
We're somewhat past this now but I thought his was a really well written even handed comparison of the differences between the hardware choices on the two console.

It seems that with the current consoles they would often keep the resolution similar but remove other effects or lower textures etc and with PS4 and XB1 they are more likely to keep as many effects, textures etc as close as possible and then drop the resolution instead to keep them running similarly.
That could be down to the Xbox One having a really good upscaler (from what I've heard) so that scalling 720/900p to 1080 means that it's not as big a drop in image quality as the raw numbers would lead us to believe. Obviously this is something we'll find out properly over the next few years though.
