Do these temps look right for an H100? I just installed it today, and it seems to perform worse than my Corsair A50 air cooler I had...

This is a 4.5ghz overclock on a 3770k. It's stable, and no settings have been changed since installing the H100. My temps seem to have risen by about 10 degrees since installing it.

Uhh looks a bit high. My 920 kuhler on my 2500k @4.4 idles around 32c and under prime for an hour only hits 70c or so. The h100 is reportedly better so something looks wrong

i tried reseating it, and im using MX-4. not sure if its faulty or not :/

Another weird thing, is that Core #1 seems to be the coolest when its idle, but the hottest when its under load...

as far as im aware, you cant change the pump speed. the button on the cpu block only controls the fan speed

theres no software to control it. I was thinking I might just have a dodgey CPU, that doesnt transfer its heat to the IHS properly, but then that doesn't explain why my air cooler seems to perform 10 degrees better :/

The pump speed should be at constant rpm. 10°C increase is a bit high given that you are coming from Air cooling (A50). You can check the pump speed by going into your BIOS. CPU fan rpm should be your pump's rpm. It should be around 2200-2400rpm.

How do you have the fans installed? pushing or pulling?

the pump speed seems fine then. fans are pushing up out of the case. tried them in different configurations, they make no difference to the temps. also the speed of the fans make no difference to temps

That says to me something is wrong with the seating of the cooler. Fan RPM should always do something to the temps.

i've reseated the cpu block twice now. thermal paste is spreading properly across the entire cpu. when i first turned the H100 on, I could hear the water sloshing around, as if there were bubbles in it, but it doesn't make any noise now.

im tempted to de-lid my cpu, because I think theres a problem with heat transfer under the IHS. the temps don't seem consistant. Core #1 seems to be the coolest at idle, and the hottest under load...

these are my idle temps

If there was a problem with the CPU then you would be experiencing the same high temps with the A50 cooler.

Can't see the images as i'm at work.

that's true I guess.

I just double checked everything, and noticed the backplate was mounted 90 degrees incorrectly. After correcting this, i've noticed no difference in temps. Still shooting up to mid 80's after 30 seconds of prime95

ok so i've gone ahead and requested an RMA. Reverted back to my old heatsink and my temps are back down by 15 degrees. with the MX-4 applied to it, temps never seem to go over 75 degrees during prime95. I think its safe to say the H100 isnt working properly.
