*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

The ps eye and game room thing is about the only exciting thing about the ps4 only launch titles that actually looks a must have so far, with amazon releasing more of these bundles it didn't make me think twice about it, i can't wait to see all those wee guys running about my floor :)

You kind of know it's going to be a novelty for a few days then we'll all get tired of it unless there's more interesting software out there we haven't seen. But I have to admit the moment I saw Ice_T kick a little robot and it splat against the screen, I thought "here's an post-work, frustration venting exercise programme with potential!"

I hate it when my brain starts to get infected by clever marketing, but I must admit part of me's now thinking "it's only £50!"

While I'm typing, I also find myself this launch turns out to be full of hardware and software bugs. Not because I want to be frustrated with my new toy, but because there'sa 12 month warranty and you can bet Sony will bend over backwards to make up for issues and reward early adopters. It's a win, win for us really, if we're patient... which every early adopter in any area should be.

Watching interviews it's clear Sony have been on top of the design of the PS4 for years. It's a very mature package.

However it is most definitely *not* a mature manufacturing process, and if a whole series of poor decisions have been made by contractors to provide competitive bids, the end product may be a minor disaster... at least in the first wave. And statistically the early results are not promising!

Still, as I said above, in the medium term we all win, whatever happens. Early issue may dent the reputation for a while, but the Red Ring fiasco didn't do XBox much harm (other than financially for MS). In the end great software always, eventually, sells hardware.

Also there was rumours of a space game being announced or something right? Or something along those lines? So it could be something to do with Zone of the Enders or even Policenauts? :o As Kojima has something to announce?
