The World's Craziest Date?

Please, most uni students don't have responsibilities, all funded by their parents.

I take it you don't know many students?

When I was a uni student I worked because I had to or I'd be out on my arse, didn't have gullible parents to bail me out back then or lots of money to put by to save up thousands for big fancy trips. I seriously doubt these lot know what it's like to not have a quid for a loaf of bread and empty cupboards to contend with.

Yes, and it appears you're quite bitter about that!

And anyway, the world is a depressing and desperate place wherever you go.

The world is as depressing and desperate as you perceive it. If you find it depressing and desperate wherever you go, maybe it's time to look at what the common factor is? :p

I may not have any faith left in the world, but at least I can see things for what they are, so I've got that going for me.

The whole point form what I gathered in the article was that they only took one change of clothes for the entire trip and didn't buy any when they were out there so how come she all of a sudden had a change of shoes when they weren't supposed to?

I think the main point of the article was that these two people were complete strangers who have just met from OKCupid and decided that instead of going for a pub lunch to see if they get along, they throw themselves into some long haul adventure.

Don't get me wrong, what they did sounds like a great experience, but there's very few women I could handle being around none stop for 21 hours (without a gag), never mind 21 days.

Hats off to them for being "different", but it's still damn odd behaviour.
