Anyone getting this for PC on Tuesday? Looks fantastic in my honest opinion!

Thanks to anticonscience, stole it from his thread in the console section!

Really looking forward to this. Game has a lot of potential.

See you all at the races.

I'll never ever buy a NFS game....EVER!!! unless of course they do NFS Underground 3 ;)

I'm more a sim racer. Such a shame, but I'm not bothering about overpriced, underpowered cough cough next gen consoles this time around, Forza I'm going to miss you.

I might buy an xbone 720p or ps4 to play gt7 or forza but not until they are under £100 one ebay. The only problem with pc is the lack of a racing sim with billions of cars. Project cars is looking promising though.

The consoles aren't under powered, at least not the PS4. It's just now a lot easier to compare a console to a PC because of the familiar hardware.

The hardware in the PS4 format will do much better than equivalent PC hardware in terms of raw power.

I beg to differ my friend, not going to get into a discussion about that one cause we all know where that will go lol....but the figures that are coming out tell their own story...games not able to run at 1080 native and only at 30fps tells a huge story. It's basically 3 year old PC numbers in a shiny new box. Not bad for £400ish, very good for that price, but nowhere near High End PC power.

It's a no brained to me, it's the 1 game that is always talked about. Nfsu2 was great fun, with today's power they could make something truly outstanding.

Project cars can't come soon enough though.

but equivalent hardware is a low-mid end pc
the consoles are outdated already to anyone with a half decent pc

how many years are they expecting those CPUs to last? because I doubt it will be many

I have enjoyed NFS games in the past but this just looks like a reskinned version :(

They need to do another underground but as it's no longer the 'F&F' time they wont.

No you will need a PC fitted with an Intel 4960X & SLI GTX 780ti to match a PS4/Xboxone

:D

The consoles don't have the overhead of DirectX having to support multiple gpus to contend with though, which is why the developers will get more performance from them than you would expect.

Look at what Naughty Dog did with what was basically a 7900 GT & 256mb ram.

from the graphics card sure but from the cpu I think not

sure there are still less overheads but when your sitting in your os what is your cpu doing? %1 load at best most likely

So anyway, back on topic... :p

I will be the only one buying this then? ah well, thread failure lol

I played it at Eurogamer on PS4. Was good fun (I think I was raving more about it being a racing game finally nailing the 60fps requirement) and I will be keeping tabs on how it does on PC. That's the thing I always worry about. Got a few other games to complete first anyway!

This was point about being able to compare directly. Resolution and fps are irrelevant because the visual quality of games has gone up. The console games coming out early in this generation are looking extremely good, significantly better than they have done.

If it's resolution and fps that you're so bothered about then it's all about PCs.

You just need to look at what some developers were still achieving on PS3, Uncharted 3 for example to see what fixed hardware means in terms of available power. The PS4 is significantly more powerful than the PS3, so you need to appreciate what developers will be able to do with the PS4 given some time.

No one can deny that the latest PS3 games look seriously good given the hardware they're running on, so you need to take that into consideration instead of looking at the hardware specs and trying to compare them to what you'd get with a PC running comparable hardware.

As above. Comparable hardware isn't relevant because you can't really directly compare, it doesn't work like that. Comparable PC hardware to the PS3 would be getting nowhere near the visual quality of games the PS3 does.

The issue is people seem to think they know what they're talking about because they know a bit about PC hardware, but they're just not that comparable.
