Chances of this '100 days of snow'?

Where are they getting this info, most long range forecasters either say they are not confident of anything at the moment, or that it looks to be an average winter.

They should be held accountable for making things up.

There will be no snow down here. Hasn't been for years.

2010 was a good winter.

Lol a crap newspaper quoting a crap one man band weather "company".

Trust me, if the Met Office don't know what is happening yet, "James Madden of Exacta Weather" knows less than nothing.

If it did snow for 100 days I think we would all be stuffed.

It doesn't need 100 days of snow! As a society we would cope far more poorly with a bad winter today than we did in 1963

Back then one of the biggest problems was the disruption of the sporting calender. A similar spell of bad weather to day would kill 10's of thousands of people (And then it would get Bad!)

The football would still be on if it happened now though, due to under-pitch heating an whatnot. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

Haha, a quick search of the weather forecasting company mentioned gives this
http://www.theguardian.com/environm...aily-express-weather-forecast-jonathan-powell

Its funny how his forecasts aren't even vaguely along the same lines as the people who have a serious interest in it and follow all the various weather monitoring systems - its like he doesn't even know they exist.

That said both his 2 recent predictions regarding snowy weather are outlier cases in the current most recognised models - extremely low confidence even though they are a possibility. (I'm betting though this recent one he just saw the mass of cold air moving off the arctic on google weather lol which has now moved west of us and probably won't come back this way and even if it did the reason why it would bring snowy weather is due to a longer term effect).
