*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Where is the cheapest place to get the S4? I was tempted to go and get one on Tesco anytime upgrade but am pondering just buying outright instead?

I9505 or i9506 guys? Help!

The i9506 version is the updated on with the snapdragon 800 and LTE-A, so I'd go for that over the i9505 personally.

Although as it's a less common model it'll have less developer support, depends how important that is to you I guess.

I9506 is also uk just the newer one

For sale where? And don't say amazon, I mean from a mobile phone shop?

Its technically the LTE-A version from Asia but it appears it's getting a vague mention in Europe although god knows why because it's really not needed.

The 32gb i9505 is also a UK model but it might as well not be.

Plus the poster who said avoid due to lack of dev support is bang on, you've only got to see the relative difference in support for the i9505 and i9500 (exynos octa core version which is supposedly "better") to see where your money should go.

Given that I don't flash custom roms or have any interest in doing so, then yes my money should go on the far faster snapdragon 800 i9506!

Do what you like with your money but don't ask questions if you're not interested in the answers!

Plus, show me a proper reputable place you can buy it?

There isn't any mention of KNOX, phew. Just tried to flash MJ9, didn't stick for some reason.

Says MJ8 for base band and MI1 for build.

Managed to get MJ9 on now but my sound has gone. Did this last time I tried to flash the most recent modem with the latest version of Omega (MJ8/Omega 13).

I was interested in other peoples opinions, you gave me yours which doesn't apply to me as I have no interest in modding!

Google is your friend, it'll soon be more widely available too.

by the time we see the i9506, there will be an abundance of (probably better) s800 phones available. the i9506's trump card isnt the s800, it's LTE-A. Shame our networks dont support it. Well, unless you happen to live on silicone roundabout.

pointless phone, like i thought it was back in june.

What is this 'Knox' and how do you know if your phone is affected by it?

I've only had my GS4 a few days but the first thing I did was flash a recovery, flash FoxHound and then flash the relevant modem.

In download mode it says

KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1

Do I need to be concerned about this?

If the knox warranty void is actually 0x1 instead of a t then yes its been triggered.
