I am looking at making my own liquids, because when I got this I thought "I will prob go through about 1-2ml a day"... I seem to be going through about 3+ mini protank2 a day which is about 5ml.

I have found a good kit with has 72mg nic liquid, PG/VG, mixing bottles etc. Now I am looking for the best flavour concentrates. Capella looks like it has good reviews, also the Cloud9 concentrates? What are the best flavour concentrates? I want some with natural taste and no diacetyl etc. Can anyone recommend me some? Also can you get 1ml samplers anywhere for flavour concentrates? Next up will be rewicking my protank. :D

Maybe try a piece of oxidised mesh in the hole?

That's what i'm using, 400 grade and 32 awg kanthal, it came out at 1.9ohms, i'm using it on my mvp2 at 9w.

@RedMogg, anyway to stop it being so airy, I thought the protank 2 was airy but this is like having a compressed airline stuck in my mouth :D

Sorry, you misunderstood me.
Get an off cut of oxidised mesh, cut a small piece leaving a hole in the centre.
Push it into the air hole, then cut off excess with a nail clippers.
Quite a few people done this on the KFL if they found it too 'airy' ;)

Thanks... Do you have any links to how to do that rewicking? TBH I find that the protank + evod makes loads of vapour, I think much more and it would be too much

Nothing in particular, YouTube has loads of tutorials though. The best way is to get an idea from a video and try, try and try again til you sus it. Having a multimeter handy is practically essential though a cheap one will do

Oh, and more than vapour production, it's the cleanliness of flavour that you'll notice, not to mention the savings (albeit small) on new heads :)

e: As Red says about, remove and compare. If you have leaking onto the battery terminal, put some back until it stops. You don't need to use all of it and you can bung some cotton wool in there (not much, it soaks up the juice really well, use 100% organic with no additives). Trial and error.

Anyone interested in saving some money... I worked out the total cost per 30ml of mixing your own vs buying ready made Juice... This is using 72mg/ml nicotine 50/50 PGVG and Capella flavourings.

Cost per 30ml ready made Juice = £9-£16 Inc delivery.

Cost per 30ml DIY juice using 2 flavours, 12mg nicotine 50/50 VG/PG = £3-£4 Inc delivery.

So the running costs of vaping using DIY liquid would be :

4ml Per day - Weekly = ~£3 DIY

4ml per day - Weekly = ~£10 Pre made

+ Approx 1 coil every 10 days = £1

So at 4ml per day of 12mg liquid :

£4 per week DIY

£11 per week Pre made

A lot cheaper....

Although this is a hardware forum full of rich people so you probably do not care about price :D

Iirc using the EZ-mixer calculator, it costs me about £1 to 90p per 10ml lol :D

Yeh I used this calculator - http://ecigvape.com/

It says about £1.30 per 10ml with 2 flavourings and 12mg strength. So that is about £16 a month total cost vs about £40 a month using the pre made juice (4ml per day).

If you got bigger bottles of nicotine and PG/VG it would be even cheaper.

Wow the 1.8ohm atomizers in the protank2 mini are much better than the 2.2ohm ones, no burnt taste and about 50% more vapor

And the bug bites poor NirK, he'll be pennyless but surrounded by barely used mods within a month :D

Hmm yes I have spent £75 already... Must not buy more things. Think I will get another battery and a DIY juice kit and then ban myself from purchasing anything else! I am satisfied with this setup anyway works well, the VV batteries look interesting but I am not sure why they would be that much better because it says the EVOD batteries are fixed at 3.7v.

Just think how much the stinkies cost. £8+ a pack last time I looked at my previous vice. Reckon I spend about £20 a month on juice and bits average, but I'm still experimenting. Just bought some clone mechs from FT and a bunch of drippers, atties and batteries from various places though. I'd be buying 8-10 packs of ciggs a month anyway if I weren't, and smelling like a hobo, killing myself and being subjected to the elements more than needed

I have not actually smoked regularly for about 5 years. But I got addicted to the nicotine gums for some reason, now that I have tried vaping, I do not like the gums anymore, vaping is much better.

Probably works out about the same price as the gums after getting all the stuff. I am not using this to stop nicotine like some people do, because I like vaping :D

But yes, smoking is a massive rip off, especially if you do not smoke rollies, a pack of cigarettes is about 80% tax in the UK! I think this is why the government want to regulate vaping products... Sad but true!

I spend roughly £30 per month (on average) on premade juice. Obviously this could be less if I didn't refuse to vape Chinese, mass produced crud, with no idea of where the ingredients have come from...

... Or save even more money by mixing my own - but the downside to that is having to keep highly toxic Nicotine base in my home, plus keep the mixology kit absolutely clean and all of it away from my young, incredibly nosy 2 year old...

I'll spend the extra cash on premium, UK sourced juices, knowing what's in them and kept safely locked away in my fridge.

... That is until Dekang come up with a convincing Apple Tart substitute for $3... :p

You could just lock the nicotine base away somewhere and put it on a high shelf or something, unless you have a 2 year old that can climb and pick locks then it should be ok. :D
