3x7990's?

Yeah but it's Lucid, use 4x7990's, get the performance of half of one 7770 :p

That's actually serious, Lucid would I could only assume increase cpu overhead which with 2x7990 is already an issue, with 3x7990... ouch. Frankly without Mantle I think it would be pointless, the cpu overhead reduction might mean a truly top CPU can push them hard enough but.

You'd get a bitching Heaven score.

That brings up a point, would any benchmarks support Mantle to give a real comparison. If AMD wrote some kinda benchmark that had a DX and Mantle runtime.... lol, no one would think the results were dodgy there :p

lol, wait, are those absolutely tiny sinks on the VRM's. I don't really know how the vrm's work on a 7990, are they all together there on the right or is there another line of VRM's near the left gpu? Either way that is insane. 4 full cover blocks would be so much safer and less tubing.

That really is an insane setup.

Martini, not sure on Heaven, realistically they aren't interested in developing Mantle purely for benchmarking so working with an actual game dev to get it going makes far more sense. It would make sense for AMD to work with benchmarks in the longer term because, if AMD only has a few games then Nvidia will encourage reviewers to ignore those games and focus on benchmarks. If they can whoop Nvidia in 3dmark and Heaven, it will help. Ok sensible gamers will know AAA games should perform great but your average Custom PC review showing 3dmark scores as a performance marker wouldn't show it. When it's made more widely available in Jan/feb then I think that will happen.

I was thinking more of a showcase, to demo the tech to the enthusiasts, in a similar vain to how DX11's first benchmark as far as I remember was Heaven.

It'd give us something to go on, as opposed waiting for BF4's patch.

you really need to start using google before asking this sort of questions.

I could say why do you write comments that are pretty useless and add nothing to the crossfire debate.

This is an open forum and the knowledge base here is highly developed, with very experienced computer users, system builders, frequently visiting and posting. The information given here is quick reliable and open to peer review and comment so if inaccuracies are stated they are quite often corrected. That doesn't always occur on internet searches.

If you dont like the topic dont get involved, go elsewhere.
