*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Anyone find that, after making a phone call, the controls at the bottom can't be used (ie. keypad/mute/speaker/), apart from the return/home & task manager controls.

Finding the calling/contacts applications not to be that flexible compared to samsungs setup on the S3 etc.

For some strange reason over Friday, Saturday and Sunday i had exceptional battery use it never dropped below 50% over the day which was out of the ordinary.

I rebooted the phone on Monday and now the battery use is back to how it was.

Better signal at home over the weekend ?

Poor signal kills a battery.

This used to happen with HTC phones. For some reason, some apps literally polled and syncd through the week but did nothing at weekend. Maybe something similar?

I didn't think the power button rattle would annoy me, but I've RMA'd it today.
I should get a replacement rather than a repair as it's within 15 days of purchase.
Wouldn't be surprised if the new one has the same rattle but it's worth a try:p

edit: wow Google must be holding the stock back for RMA's. Mine's been shipped already (32gb black).

My volume buttons rattled a little bit but the power button didn't however now it's in the S Line case the buttons do not rattle as they are a nice fit inside the case.
Problem solved as it will always be in a case while I own it :D

Google play services has used 31% of my battery again today and been awake for 13 hours. Strange thing is that it has not zapped the battery at all. Bit strange.
Also I notice in the stock email app I now have 'archive and other folders' at the top of each of my accounts, and they have never been there until today. They show some time and when they don't there is a space at the top of the screen. Wierd.

Yes, a lot of people have noticed it over the past day:

Same thing is happening on my Moto X with 4.4. I imagine it will sort itself out soon.

Definite reproducable problem where my vibration stops halfway through a text and stays off, phonecalls don't even make it vibrate after it happens. Happily Google have sent me a new one and I have a few days to return this one. Im half expecting them to say there's nothing wrong with it but i don't even think they'll care.

Why would I pick anything else over a Nexus?

Loads of reasons:

- Changeable battery
- Better Screen
- SD Card
- Larger battery
- Better speakers

The Nexus5 is not the best Android phone on the market despite everyone trying to make it. Its a good phone for the price but that doesn't make it the best phone. Even the budget Moto G has shown that it shows Blacks better than the Nexus5.

The Nexus range will never be the best android phones on the market but they are not intended to be.
