*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Erm, that's because it doesn't DO ANYTHING except gaming... They didn't bother to include media functionality / any new features.

I should hope they can get their games console to a complete stage where it can play games!!

Not true, PS4 has netflix, music unlimited, it hopefully will stream movies, and it also has BBC iplayer so it does do more then play games, but it is primarily a games console. Which, fancy that it does that quite well..

It also has motion with the camera and limited voice commands not that any PS4 owner cares for it.

Clearly, you want a powerful games machine, PS4, you want a media system that plays games xbox one.

Seems odd that last gen, Sony pushed the media functionality the most, but now have gone back to roots with PS4 whereas MS has gone with media..

NBA 2K14 vs NBA Live 14 for PS4, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8OBiMMo7Ao

Goes to show how simply amazing 2K14 is, question anyone know of a place doing this cheaper than 55£ price tag, ty :)

I've been deliberating over NBA for a while now. I love Jam on the mega drive/SNES. One thing that bothers me with this installment is the commentary. Like many others are saying, it's dire!

The d pad on the PS controller are better i admit but as i said i play with sticks and the PS sticks are in a retarded positions

so who just plays with the dpad?

the sticks arnt in retarded positions, they are just in a retarded position for you. now go race some drivatards

Music unlimited is rubbish. iPlayer is hardly a revolutionary feature! lol

The camera is an after thought and not being mandatory it'll never get used effectively.

The PS4 plays games. That's effectively it. A smart tv has more media functionality than it.

For those that are interested. The eye toy camera is very nice hardware size wise. Could say its as cute as a button, given its non interfering size. Not spilled $60 on one mind.

LOL wut??, majority of my PS playing friends use the d pad when they play games on the PS consoles:confused:..dont know about anyone but ive never seen them play with the sticks.

And yes for me the stick positions on the PS controllers are retarded.

Go race some drivatards?? what are you 3??.

Anyhow i wont be coming in here anymore lol, i was just stating my opinion about the controllers...looks like poor ickle muggins here got awfully butthurt by my comments.

Interested on opinions for the hybrid drives. Are there 1TB drives out there with more than 8gb SSD for caching? Would more be worth it or the Seagate 8gb suffice?

I just find it hard to believe that one thumbstick can be fine in the lower position (Xbox style) but two in that position is a problem for some people.

Your right hands must be less highly strung than your lefts

I use both consoles fine by the way.

Surely people shouldn't be saying the controller is no good until they've actually tried one...?

By all accounts it seems pretty amazing, nigh on flawless, so I'd want to at least try it.

Regardless, I'm one of these lucky people with magic hands who can use either controller without whinging about it, they're both fine and I'm sure the new ones are even better. :p

Personally, I prefer the playstation sticks, but can game on the 360 ones as well. I am just more used to the PS pad, and honestly, I prefer it.

Same here, it's no longer available to order either. Really hoping I get one this side of Xmas, my eldest son wants Killzone, I get to play it as well then :p.
I'm 99.9% certain it'll be before Christmas (Amazon guaranteed it), but I finish work for Christmas on the 18th December, so it would be nice to have it by then as I have 2 1/2 weeks off. Being able to play the PS games as well as my XB1 games would make for a very happy Davey at Christmas :)

a lot of the issue was cramping, and to be honest I got it once of twice with the DS3. Only when playing big Killzone sessions. Hack and Slash, MGS or Resident evil, Never had an issue. I think it's the way you cradle the pad when playing FPS games.

But, saying that, I'm one of the lucky people to have played around with a DS4, and I could tell after 20 minutes or so, that the thicker base of the pad allows for your palm to be in a more restful position(Like the 360)

So yes people are saying boo hoo the thumbsticks are still parallel. Well honestly, I think the chunky base has taken that issue away, its a game changer.

People who havent yet used a DS4 need to hush up until they have really.

Strangely enough I've not yet used an XBoxONE pad :D I'd like to, a review I read says its a step backwards to the 360 pad(May have just been on a post on here), I'm praying thats not the case.
