*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Personally, I prefer the playstation sticks, but can game on the 360 ones as well. I am just more used to the PS pad, and honestly, I prefer it.

Some people have odd shaped hands maybe. I much prefer symmetry myself. But then i have always preferred proper keyboards over 'natural' keyboards too.

LOL wut??, majority of my PS playing friends use the d pad when they play games on the PS consoles:confused:..dont know about anyone but ive never seen them play with the sticks.

And yes for me the stick positions on the PS controllers are retarded.

Go race some drivatards?? what are you 3??.

Anyhow i wont be coming in here anymore lol, i was just stating my opinion about the controllers...looks like poor ickle muggins here got awfully butthurt by my comments.

so they dont use the sticks just the dpad?

lol you are seeing this incorrectly, you can say anything you want about the ps4 i dont mind, if its a complete blatant lie i would pull you on it because truth is best.

u need to read what you said man. you said they are in retarded position period, now thats like saying i and a whole bunch of others are retarded because we are fine with the stick positions, hence the drivatard remark, actually drivatard is fitting from what im hearing about them from a few reviews, however the drivatars should get better as time goes on.

dont stop coming in here i insist, you are welcome to come here and give whatever opinion you hold.

NBA 2K for those debating 2K or LIVE... the former is so much more established right now that LIVE has a long way back.

Can only echo this.

2K gives off a proper next gen experience, where as Live looks as if it was build to play on a PS2/3... Considering EA hasn't released an NBA Live title in three years, the general feeling is that they've somehow managed to make it worse!

I agree with Boogie, what does the Xbox ONE do that other devices dont? OK its in 1 big box... but it dosent replace anything directly...

Id still need my Smart TV... my Virgin Media box... etc

A console for me has always just been about games and I cant see why anyone (bar for the friends reason) has gone for a Xbox ONE the more I hear about it.

Why would anyone want a huge additional box that just tweaks the experience you have in home anyway? I can browse the net on my Smart TV with PIP, preview films, use Apps etc - im sure there are other TVs out there that do even mroe than that.

I could go on, but I just dont get why anyone would pay 100 quid more for a worse gaming experience and yes graphics/framerate does affect it, as otherwise why are we all not just sticking with this generation or even the one before that as they have plenty of games already released.

EDIT - Yes I know, each to their own and if the systems were reversed id be getting a Xbox ONE on Friday...

The PS4 doesn't have Dead Rising, Forza or Titanfall. That's why I was initially going for the Xbox One over the PS4 (I'm now getting both). To some people (myself included), it's not about having the best performance, it's merely about having the games you want :)

I'm getting them both, but I'm more interested in the Xbox at the moment as it has IMHO by far the stronger exclusive launch lineup. Maybe that will change later, but the PS4 has launched with 1 real worthwhile exclusive that being Killzone as the other big one they had, Driveclub, got shunted back into next year. The integration with anything else has somewhere between bugger all and no interest to me I'm only buying these to play games nothing else. If I had to pick 1 and only 1 then at the moment the Xbox wins for games..fortunately I don't so when Driveclub and other exclusives appear it'll be here ready and waiting.

I am doing the same, getting both.

I really want forza and maybe halo and Titan fall

True, didnt really think about exclusives.. but i still think Killzone will top out as the launches best game across the console, albeit the best of a bad bunch.

Either way, I can see my PS4 collecting dust for a while.. just dont see any real games that I fancy for it and I always end up back on my PC anyhow :D

On a PS controller yes, i havent seen any of them use the sticks as far as im aware. I also find the PS sticks a bit too 'loose' for my liking, again another minus in my books.

Ok and as i said they are for me in a retarded position ie my hands dont feel comfortable with where they are positioned. Hope that clears it up and i didnt mean that PS players are retarded although how you came to that conclusion from what i said is beyond me really. But lets not get into that.

I keep seeing so much hype for forza but have never been remotely interested in driving sims myself. A late friend of mine loved them and seemed to love the gran turismo series which i think are ps exclusive as opposed to xbox and forza. Is forza considered the better series?

Changed my pre order slightly;

  • Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4)
  • Sony PlayStation DualShock 4 - Magma Red (PS4)
  • Sony PlayStation DualShock 4 - Wave Blue (PS4)
  • FIFA 14
  • BattleField 4
  • Officially Licensed Chat Headset (PS4)

Starting to get very excited :) eight days!

Forza vs GT is a difficult question. Early GTs were better, but since GT4 and Forza 3, the Forza series took a slight lead. That's just my opinion though, and I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either series.

Seems to be the opinion of the googling i did about it too. GT5 was not on par with earlier versions wheras forza 4 was very well loved. Goes to show that loyalty to a series is daft (evident in cod) and that people need to be open at each iteration.

I think ps4 needs a new twisted metal game tbh :D

I've never really 'got' driving games, I enjoyed silly racing games (Mario Kart, Crash Team Racking and a game I had years and years ago on PC which let you shoot each other) but always found 'serious' racing games a bit boring. Loved the early Colin McRae Rally games though.

Gran Turismo, I did play to death as a child with friends though, we'd all try and do (I seem to recall) a 24 hour race? We'd take it in turns doing a couple of hours each, but that was more about getting together and having a laugh along the way (tend to do this with FIFA now) and I have played the most recent Gran Turismo but I just get bored quite easily I guess when playing on my own. I played Forza (My cousins partner is a huge fan) and really enjoyed playing with him, but struggled on my own again.

I enjoy games I can play on my own, I do play online and with friends but I enjoy games I don't tire of and for some reason racing games send me to sleep, I'm willing to give Drive Club a go as it's a new game and I quite like new things, especially in games. I did really enjoy Project Gotham Racing actually, that was a launch title for the xbox 360 that I got at the time and enjoyed.

The sticks are a lot stiffer now, and feel much more responsive, the Xbox ones though felt to loose when i use a pad, i had to crank the sensitivity down to make up for them.
