Just to be double-clear here, they are "free" (i.e. already bought) if you bought the 'premium' addon pack (i.e. pay for the game twice in the form of two separate products, rather than once at double the price).

If you bought the digital deluxe (one item, but more expensive) you're going to be annoyed.
 
Its actually cheaper for the consumer to buy premium than to buy the all the map packs separately.

There have always been expansion packs. Even battlefield 1942 had the secret weapons of WWII expansion pack.

And plenty of people argued at the time that BF: Vietnam was little more than an expansion pack for 1942 and released as a whole new game.

Even on HC...LOL. It should take 1 pass on a littlebird with the attack jets maximum 2. With the boat you need to TV them twice + cannon or just spam that 30mm cannon burst is more effective against air but meh against ground targets and boats.

If you're on target you should be able to take down a scout heli with ease in an A-10. Perhaps the server was lagging?

i only bought the preorder (snagged it for £24 ;) ), wanting to wait to see where the premium comes in at a steal price ;)

I'm not disputing that it works out cheaper to buy premium than back by pack as they get released (and you get some other shizzle too for buying it). but just sucks to spend sooooooooooooooooooooo much money, essentially costing 2 regular priced PC games (ish) just for some maps (some just remakes) and to add in weapons (again, some we've seen before). Is the premium content equivalent to buying another pc game, In my eyes..... nope, it's just some maps and weapons.

If it was £20 then cool, 4 expansions for a fiver each. yea I can deal with that....but when it's £40......meh :\

hell in the end with bf2 they gave all the expansions away for free with the 1.5 patch xD granted it was a few years down the line but could you imagine EA/Dice doing that now? FAT CHANCE! lol


edit: I also loved BC2 vietnam!!!! that was awesome and I could totally justify the £11 of what ever it was as that gave, what felt like to me at least, a pretty different playing experience, all dif weapons and vehicles and maps. not to mention feeling awesome in the hueys blasting out some creedence !

Agree with this. I got the game and premium through the Thailand store so it was around £50 all up. Still allot to pay for a game but no where near retail.
 
Yeah the 30mm burst absolutely sucks against infantry (have to hit them dead on and plus usually requires 2-3 bursts) and other boats (unless encountering them at long range.....), superb against aircraft though! 30mm is the beast though! :cool: Still very easy to take out any close by aircraft as long as you can lead your target well.

Since the tweak to tv missile reload time, I am trying not to use them against aircraft as much :( Need them for when against other boats.


I'll will probably buy premium this time round:

- play with a lot of ocuk people here and so don't want to left out when you lot join a premium only server :p :o
- enjoying most of the maps so far and the first assault DLC should be fun

But not till it is cheaper and these problems are fixed/improved!


It is actually infuriating how they have some how managed to make BF 4 BL so much worse than BF 3 BL in every way :o Chat system is broken for me big time i.e. last night combat sent me a message about a PC problem and I asked what is wrong, later refreshed/reloaded the page and there were actually another 3 messages after that first one but they didn't show before the page reload :rolleyes:

I haven't actually used the AA much at all for its "proper use", haven't really felt the need to since the aircraft aren't as much of a problem in this game so far due to extra cover on the ground, limited ammo for heli, loads of people just sitting in their bush with their stingers/iglas generally does the job etc.

But when you get someone like yourself westie in the jet and no one does a single thing or aren't able too then it is one huge PITA :p
 
lol yea BL is screwed, keep getting instances where my own name would appear in my com center friends list....2 nights ago there were apparently 7 of me online playing in the same server ;) :p
