I can help you out with both of them! With the Froakie will it be a special or physical attacker? I'd personally recommend physical, as the moves you'll end up using the most is Matt Block then U-turn (rinse and repeat)

Assuming you want to go physical I can give you a Female Jolly (+Spd - SAtk) Protean Froakie x/31/31/x/31/x and a Male Protean Froakie 31/x/31/x/31/31. Then all you need to do is put the everstone on the female and destinyknot on the male and before you know it you'll have a Jolly Protean Froakie with 31/31/31/x/31/31.

As for the fletchinder I can give you Female Jolly Galewings Fletchling 31/31/31/x/x/31 and a Male Jolly x/31/31/x/31/31 and you'll have a 5 IV Hidden ability Talonflame before you know it!

Great have added you on my 3ds and as regards Froakie I'm quite happy to go with what you recommend as i'm just starting to get into breeding as i've never done it before :)

I have PKRS on a pokemon if you want?

p.s with Both Pokemon you want to be aiming for 31/31/31/x/31/31 and put your effort values into Speed and Attack.

Then once you've done that if you're doing triple battles (which is all I ever do) I open with Talonflame and Greninja and do Tailwind on Talonflame (DOUBLES your teams speed for 4 goes) not only is Talonflame one of the fastest pokemon but the hidden ability pretty much guaratees he'll go first. Then use Matt Block on Greninja (he'll go 2nd now Tailwind is in play). On the 2nd turn you want to use U-turn on Greninja as that'll allow him to re-enter and open with Matt-Block again. P.s you have to go to the move rememberer to get Matt Block!

Thanks again for the advice and the trades. Hopefully if I can get a ditto safari I'll be able to start my breeding program :)

The Froakies I gave you had 4 IV's each and the Fletchlings had a 3 and a 4. A Ditto Safari would be good for starting out but the highest you're catch in a safari is 3 IV's and they're rare. Just keep at it and you'll get a 5 IV pokemon in no time. Just make sure the female holds the stone and the male holds the knot. Also it takes longer to breed with a ditto. Ditto is only good if your starting fresh because it can breed with anything. For Froakie and Fletchling a ditto wont help, it'll only massively hinder you. :p

Got it on the GTS eventually - After I had already chosen another pokemon instead :p


Now I just need a bit more levelling, get some hold items, and I'll be good to battle :D

The half of my team that is complete already gets flawless the battle institute.

I really need to start actually trying to put a team together... I've just been breeding pokes I like the look of, think I must have 10 or 11 with perfect natures and IVs now, although a couple still need EV training and move sets. I've got quite a few 5 IV Goodras that I'm happy to give away btw, they're mostly Sap Sippers though; I've got a couple of 5 IV Gooeys but I think I'm going to hold them back for trading.

I've done a bit in the Battle Maison, only had a few goes but my best so far is Battle 33, using Greninja with Life Orb, Dragonite with Leftovers and Scizor with Scizorite. :)
 
Reading this page is like reading a foreign language... the last Pokemon I played was Pokemon Yellow on the Pikachu edition Gameboy Color... which had zero of whatever it is is being talked about here :D

I feel I might have some learning to do when I get around to playing this...

I feel Scizorite is a bit of a waste of a mega stone slot. Life-orb scizor does more damage after all. Much better to use it on something like mawile or kangaskhan who become radically different and better.

The terms used in the competitive battle scene are 10 times worse than business speak :p Its not hard to learn though, and not necessary at all if you just want casual play

I've built my Scizor as quite tanky ('bulky' would be the correct Pokemon terminology I believe :D), with Roost so I'm not sure if Life Orb would be best, he's a bit of a beast tbh! But will definitely try Kangaskhan as I've got one ready, just haven't used it yet. :o I tried Mega Mawile but didn't think much of it but maybe I just got bad matchups, will have to try again.

I think I'll try a bulky Scizor when pokebank comes out so I can breed defog onto it.

Its a massive shame that there is no easy way to play 6v6 random matchups. why everything defaults to 3v3 is beyond me.

Mega-mawile demolished me last night :p tbh I played it badly, let it swords dance and then didn't use my counter properly. But still, its got some insane power.


Is anyone else finding there are a lot of people running around with Ubers? Fortunately none of the ones I've encountered have had decent IVs, Mega-mewtwoX should be a big threat to me, but I don't think it even managed a single hit :p
 
Folks, I have in my possession Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, White 2, and X and Y.

Should I start from either Black or White and make my way through 2 and then X / Y?

As far as I know Black 2 and White 2 are your Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, Emerald etc. I think they add a little bit more but they're very close to being re-makes.

As for are they worth playing? Depends really? I preferred TES Oblivion to Skyrim but I doubt I could replay Oblivion now. If you get me?

Sorry please bear in mind Ive not played other Pokemon games (Ive wanted to play them but never got round to it, so decided to start with the DS/3DS itterations.

So White/Black 2 are more like White/Black version 1.2?
Same game but just more stuff thrown into it?
Or different story lines etc?

And concerning starting B/W or X/Y, do you think playing B/W would break me into X/Y more easly?

Well the games just get easier with X/Y posing no challenge. Personally I'd just play X/Y as graphically it's far more superior
 
Folks Im currently playing Pokémon White (just to break into the game). I read that if you get the National Pokedex you can encounter ALL Pokémon in the Pokémon world.

But does this National Pokedex limit you only to the game in which you completed it in? I.e. in my case Pokémon White?
 
Could anyone please help me get my Scyther evolve into Scizor by trading it temporarily with me and then trading it back?
