Another Developer Rebellion Throws Weight Behind AMD & Mantle

I don't care and hope Mantle is a huge success. What is worrying, is that people get all upset if someone dares to question things their favoured brand do

Very exciting times ahead for any PC gamer, with techs from both companies giving people headaches on what shiny new GPU to choose.

I was hoping to flog one of my monitors to fund a 290X but Gibbo winking, could have me hitting up the overtime money instead. Bring on the Mantle I say and bring on the G-Sync and bring on the competition

AMD said maybe in the far future they would consider adding support for Nvidia's architecture at the time (Maxwell, Volta, or whatever comes after that) but obviously this would require Nvidia to lose face (as they see it) and be perceived as coming to AMD cap in hand. Nvidia aren't likely to do it.

will be interesting to see wht nvidia do. if its a big deal theyll be doing something if its crap they just sit back and laugh. they probably know already what its like . so if it is decent they probably already doing something to compete.

when does it launch for bf4 isnt it in next few weeks. i did twitter repi a few times on it he answered me for other things but not mantle

Mantle is getting nearly as much hype as bulldozzer. . . . . . . . . Lets hope it doesn't go like that.

Come on guys lets stop it with the EA bashing, i agree EA are not a great publisher, their domination on the market has turned them into megalomaniacs, i don't disagree.

But its not EA that develop the games, they are simply publishers for a number of diffrent developers, cite DICE and Crytek at the top of that tree.

Both those developers are at the forefront in what they do, they push the known boundaries, they are always looking for new and better things, to make better and better games.

They are not perfect, but they are very very good at what they do, its because they push the boundaries is the reason that in DICE's case BF4 has problems, when you try new thing's, do it in new ways problems can arise that you can't necessarily foresee.

We should really think a little more before being critical of someone like DICE, and AMD, for not being perfect. Yes they should be criticised when things go wrong, a good developer welcomes constructive criticism. but we should also keep in mind that what they are doing is trying to advance technology for the good of everyone, often at great expense to themselves, we need people like this in our industry, they should be applauded for their efforts.

Had EA not forced DICE to release ASAP and even pushed super quick through quality control knowing full well it had massive issues, Then what you said would be fine. But because of EA's precious profit and wanting to beat COD to market we are left with a piece of trash in its current state! A fact that is proved by the wallets of consumers (50% drop in BF4 sales 1 week after release) . Fact is EA needs to stop saying they will be better and just be better.

I must be very lucky person with BF4 because I haven't had no game crashes at all.
The only time my game has closed is because servers crashing.

Surely I can't be alone?

I have had 1 crash and that was in the first week.
None since then, game runs very well here
