Government completely lost it?

To be honest, he's on his own with this one... It's being done to put in place control of the internet than to win votes. The internet is the biggest threat to government control of information that in their mind they need to rectify.

Even the comments on the daily mail articles are against him on this one.

it all starts with porn and ends with the whole internet being censored.. give it 5 years and we'll pay-per-click lol.

Your brand of extremism is probably closer to tabloid hysteria than anything particularly malignant, such as inciting hatred against specific groups. It's all rather middle class and benign.
How is something based on political research "tabloid hysteria" as you put it?

I incite hatred and violence because I believe they're part of the natural forces of life, of self regulation against greed and corruption. Suppression of them has led us into the current situation.

Some things do need to be monitored or changed though. Porn is one of them and also movies / music download sites that is illegal or provide links.

Yes all the search engines have a part to play with the search results too.

and the government needs to be monitored to ensure they are working for the people and not themselves.

The internet has been a Wild West since its inception. The fact the West is now being tamed by government is not sinister or evil, it's just the natural evolution of things.

Obviously I like the Wild West aspect of the internet, but it would be grossly naive of me to think that situation could last. Order always asserts itself into the chaos.

FFS, now I need to set up a secondary proxy-browser just in case they start censoring more stuff (not that I use extremist websites).

Because 'political research' is an inherently normative concept that is bound to be subject to your own political leanings? Do you even read what you post?

Well done ocuk Tory boys, you voted for these idiots, enjoy the internet now ;)

My Internet experience hasn't changed at all since 2010. Still can access everything I could then. :/

In other words you read the Tory controlled tabloids and actually believe them.

If no one else is to do it, why not the people?

We have no way of doing anything.

We can't protest any more like we used to be able to (plenty of youtube video evidence of undercover police at protests inciting violence after giving a signal to their buddies so they have an excuse to break it up)
News papers don't have freedom of the press so can't tell us what we want to know.

Twitter etc being controlled by the government stops us discussing anything with each other in a mainstream way. (okay this didn't quite happen yet but it's only a matter of time)

soon some dictator countries will have more freedom than we do
