Government completely lost it?

The internet has been a Wild West since its inception. The fact the West is now being tamed by government is not sinister or evil, it's just the natural evolution of things.

Obviously I like the Wild West aspect of the internet, but it would be grossly naive of me to think that situation could last. Order always asserts itself into the chaos.

Take your philosophical views and eat a donut somewhere else

Some people are so melodramatic. Yes we can protest if we don't like something and the newspapers do have freedom of the press - none of these are absolutes, but things can change if there is enough support.

I personally am very much a libertarian when it comes to digital rights issues. I'm against censorship in the way of content filters, but I can see why this may seem a good idea to some people ignorant of the issue.

I agree with limited pron and banning all sites related to illegal downloads of music and movies and tv shows.

No, ***

Some of us don't like adverts, some of us don't like cinema's, some of us want to watch it before the UK, some of us don't want to pay ripped off prices!

Look out people, we have a conservative!

Limiting Pron in what sense?

Limiting it to 5 second clips, followed by a popup saying:

"Please select from one of the three surveys below to carry on watching this video:

- Give us your mobile number so we can spam you lots questionnaire
- Give us your email address to never win an ipad so we can spam you lots
- Give us your yummy yummy soul.. and win an ipad! For reals!"

Five seconds? Plenty of time anyway!

1) Government lets in loads of immigrants
2) Immigrants commit acts of terrorism and crime rises
3) "I know, lets block porn and people saying nasty things on the internet, that will surely solve our problems!"

True, i did have to faff around for a few minutes finding proxy websites for when Virgin banned some torrent sites but so far i'd agree with that

But now they are blocking the proxies, it's tres annoying, hence the need for a proxied browser instead of using proxy sites.

they will keep blocking proxies and more will appear, it is the government fighting determined torrenters who will do anything to get their free movies and music......and pr0n lol

That you must have it activated on the line to be able to get over the filters. It's wrong allowing it to be open for anyone to know a site and get access to it no matter what age.

Run don't let the door hit you on your way out. :D

Why?

How does the existence of such sites negatively impact you?

It doesn't negatively impact me in any way at all. I'm against it.
