Government completely lost it?

I'm making a point about it because I know I have extremist views, or what the government would consider extremist views.

That's not a bad thing, extremism isn't terrorism, as the government would have so many people believe. It just threatens their position of power, to block extremist views is to **** all over democracy.

Thats it in a nut shell, it's just dog whistle politics for the consumption of the DM reading masses, who no doubt will start baying for ever more stringent controls to be placed on the net because these don't go far enough. :rolleyes:

Never mind that if we put 1/10th of the efforts into combatting terrorism and extremism into road safety - we'd save 10x more lives, but that won't win a politician any votes.

blocking torrent sites was just the start, now they are going to block everything that gives us joy in the world, pr0n and expressing our extremist views. Tbh in my opinion very little the government legislates affects me, or if it does it doesnt affect me enough to complain about it however when it comes to blocking webpages that does affect me and i really wish they would leave the tinterwebs alone as it is a worldwide service not a British service for the government to stick their foot in.

On another note about the government, here in Northern Ireland we don't appoint politicians, we appoint brainless donkeys to hold the same view and complain about flegs

Now now, you know you're talking rubbish here. Cameron isn't great, but David Blunkett was far worse and single handedly kick off the whole servalance culture in the UK. He was directly responsible for all the CCTV and draconian police powers, and if Labour had another term we'd all have ID cards by now.

Your brand of extremism is probably closer to tabloid hysteria than anything particularly malignant, such as inciting hatred against specific groups. It's all rather middle class and benign.

Yeah for some reason blunkett was obsessed with seeing hence all the CCTV in epic proportions, to get to the top in a political party you've got to be a conniving creepy control freak.

I was a little :p

I was trying to make the point that his statement was so ridiculous that i could easily name someone in our own recent history someone was worse.
 
I am all for blocking all that filth on the net. How did you guys manage before the Internet? You will have to go back to your mags and videos! Awwwwwwwwww, poor lot. Been there, done it myself and now I have grown up and have respect for the human body and what God created. It's sad that some of you have to get your pleasure from these images on the net.
