What? I do that all the time.
What sort of safety advice are you giving?
What? I do that all the time.
Yes, in a country who's cycling infrastructure is considerably more safe than in the UK, and a population who are a lot more geared to giving way to cyclists. Those exact bikes are used a lot in Holland, complete with children too.
What sort of safety advice are you giving?
A father who has been taking his children to school in a wheelbarrow attached to a bicycle
Tailgating, speed, lack of observation and pretty much everything else under the sun. It's usually preceded by a chat and some checks on the driver and the vehicle.
but why should they be made to wear helmets ? in case you run one over you think the helmet will save his life?
Making it a requirement for children to wear helmets sure.
For adult's no
you are assuming the majority of accidents involve a head hitting something which they do not.
especially road accidents ,most of them the bike is either crushed under a car or the person is still standing on his bike
I wonder if burnsy is made famous on some idiots youtube channel yet for trying to do his job and caring![]()
You never put a baby on the pillion seat...Is it Legal for a baby to ride pillion on a Motorcycle?
It's not an unrealistic proposition that he sticks his hand out as he falls and does not bump his head on the kerb either. Is there really that level of assumption?
Scenario A: HGV wipes out cyclist. Helmet has no discernible benefit.
Scenario B: Cyclist turns into traffic and is hit by a car, falls off his bike, bangs his head on the kerb. Helmet stops severe head trauma.
This is not an unrealistic proposition, is it?
I bet you would struggle to find a video of a cyclist flying head first off his bike
