Yeh I had some of the joose liquids straight out of the envelope yesterday and they had a horrible chemical aftertaste to them, I did what I just said with the hot water etc. and left them with the top off overnight and definitely a lot better. I have not tried steeping for longer than 3 days so far but I found that doing the hot water etc. for a few hours is as effective or better than just leaving them with the top off for 3 days.

I think I am going to buy the stuff to build my own coils and DIY my own liquids so I can make it how I want and also once you have all that stuff the running costs per week are almost nothing. If the Ekowool is not best for the protank wicks then what material is best? What type of wool?

I want to bite your hand off but I have over 500ml of e liquid and 30ml's of that is apollo's stuff which belongs in the bin, I've lived off of Si's stuff and can't tolerate the cheapy mass produced stuff anymore. He's like Heisenberg...make quality product and gets you hooked.... Now if he made some sort of menthol juice I'd never need to go elsewhere.
 
Anyone looking for a cheapish mech mod? I think I might sell my sigelei 19b due to lack of use! It's got the solid brass post and also full spare bottom button (magnet one not solid brass post). Got a 18350 and 18650 efest batterys and charger that could go with it!

Probably sell the lot for £30? Genuinely hardly used, just find myself using an ego twist most of the time.

LOL no worries, ill probably bin it soon unless someone else wants it.

Yep Si's stuff is immense, gonna need to order some more, probably do a 100ml bottle of his raspberry soon...almost finished it. It just tastes so damn lovely in the KFL with my paps x mod.

did you get it when they had that deal where it basically cost 1 pound for it?
I got three out of them and the only one I liked was coffee, ry4 and rocky road were icky!

Indeed, I've been trying to convince him to make seasonal one's, a coffee one and a menthol based one....it's going to take some more prodding. I'm sure I can blackmail him somehow ;)

hhmm raspberry is yummy in the KFL indeed it's such a subtle all day vape. The blueberry on the other hand I prefer in the genny style mods. Haven't been getting on with his apple tart much lately, seems to keep tasting burnt/bland....I've been using it too much

What about people post some flavour combo's they like... Or recipes for DIY liquids..... These are some I tried which I think are alright...

Vapology Orange
Steamgunk Ry4
Chocolate + Caramel + Mint
Vanilla + Mint
Key lime
Apple

Hmmm that is about the only ones I would want to have again out of about 20 I have tried lol. Got just about every flavour from Joosejuice on my shelf steeping away as well. I want to get about 4-6 flavours I like then I will have a go at DIY'ing them.
 
Jesus.... The menthol flavour from Joosejuice will blow your socks off.... I think that is the most minty thing I have ever tasted.
 
For anyone complaining that the custom made Eliquids (Joosejuice, 8bitvape, etc) taste "chemically/perfumey" as soon as you try them - compared to BATCH-STEEPED Eliquids such as Scope's, T-Max/Snake Oil, GVC etc - then you're missing out by throwing/giving away juices before they've reached their best.

Most single flavours (Peach, Menthol) will taste fine from the moment they are mixed. More complex, multiple flavour combinations, require Steeping...
I mean a good couple of WEEKS, at least, resting, with daily air changes (some leave the lid off, I prefer to just undo the lid and gently squeeze the bottle a few times to change the air), ideally somewhere out of direct light and at room temperature.

Heating up the bottle for a while can artificially boost this process, but it won't be anywhere near as effective as just allowing the flavours to interact over time.

Think of Whiskey: The longer it's been allowed to mature, the better it tastes (and therefore why it's more expensive). "Fresh" Whiskey (Thailand's Sang-Som for example) tastes artificial and chemical compared to even a blended whiskey. Jura 30 year single malt, in steeping terms, is heaven in a glass.

I've just opened a 50ml bottle of Scope's Apple Tart that has been sat at the back of my drugs cupboard (I have a LOT of incredibly strong drugs, hence having a locked cupboard in my kitchen) and I found it last night after clearing all my out of date drugs...

The Apple Tart was sent to me in May, and has rested, untouched until today. I filled my AGA-TD (in Auto-feeding Dripper mode) with Apple Tart from 2 weeks ago and my AGA-T2 (with exactly the same setup as the TD) with the 6 month old juice...

The difference between the two was incredible. Although the individual flavours are the same, the way they've combined in the older juice has mellowed and brought new aromas to both the inhale and the exhale. Less pastry, more cinnamon, less soft apple and more stewed apple with brown sugar - absolutely divine! I've put the older bottle in the fridge, so it doesn't steep as quickly as at room temperature and put the newer version in the back of my drugs cupboard...

TL;DR:
Treat your eliquid like your booze and you'll be rewarded.
 
You are probably right but I found that if you want some NOW and cannot wait 3 weeks then the method of leaving in warm / hot water, shaking, and then airing - repeat this warming / shaking / airing a few times and they taste a hell of a lot better than when they first opened, some of these tasted pretty much vile at first but after doing that they are quite nice now. Currently chuffing on a mix I made of Joose Chocolate + menthol + vapology caramel.... Mmm nice...

I got this Spinner today and the VV does actually make a huge difference, since setting it to a lower voltage I have not had a single bad hit or burnt taste which I was getting about 50% of the time with the fixed voltage EVOD.... This silver vision spinner 1300 + protank 2 mini looks so nice.... I think it looks nicer than some of the more expensive mods...

Does making your own coils actually give a better flavor / vapor compared to the standard ones? Or is it just cheaper?

The amount of times i advise new mixers to let their diy custards, dessert mixes etc... to steep for at least 4 weeks is crazy, yet they will insist on trying it after 2 days :(.
I can actually taste the difference between a 4 week and an 8 week old batch of my own vc.
As you said, the flavours just tend to be more enhanced and compliment each other better.
Patience is the key.
I have also tried Lordys milk frother, microwave, hot water, in my pocket, even on my ultrasonic toothbrush lol :D, and they may change colour faster, but nothing beats a long traditional air steep.
Just keep a production line going, every 2 weeks i will make a 50ml mix, that way i always have some ready to go.
And thats not counting my other mixes and trials lol
 
I think that the actual amount of nicotine absorbed in these must be pretty low compared to the amount in the liquid.

I would guess that about 50% of the nicotine gets into the vapour / into your mouth and then about half of that is absorbed, I reckon that for 1ml of 18mg juice you prob absorb 25% of that which is about 5mg nicotine. I can sit here and vape 18mg juice almost constantly and still feel like I have had less than I would get from nicotine gum.
 
Had a run in with a security guard today in Crewe town centre, about 6 meters from a 'VIP vape' store...he approached as he saw me vaping and assumed it was smoking, mentioned I wasn't allowed to smoke, I replied it was vaping, he said 'Yeah, that aint allowed in here either' I retorted by stating 'That store there sells vaping gear, are you going to tell them they are not allowed to demonstrate there product?'...The guard said 'Fair point...just dont smoke a real ciggerette in here'. We then spoke about how it stopped me smoking etc, he used to smoke 40 a day and quit when his wife passed away due to her dying of lung cancer...

Anyhow, on a lighter note, or a duller, depends on how you see it, my girlfriend has been taken in by vaping, yet she didn't smoke a lot, just when stressed. She has 2 of me CE5's, a bottle of Pomegranate and Vimto and also my ego...she loves it...

I am going to place a bottle of e-liquid inside my HIFIMAN HE-400 headphones and play a frequency sweep from 20-35khz for 30 minutes and see if this works on the principle that people use ultrasonic cleaners to steep e-liquid quickly haha.
