I made sure to never end the game until i finished a chapter after i got fed up of loosing checkpoints near the start of the game.

So whats everyones opinion after a weekend with the machine?
How does it compare to when you got your last gen console...what do you think of the launch games and is the ps4 as good as you thought it would be?
For me personally i think its the best console yet. So quick and snappy and i love that you can go back to the home screen n have the game continue where you left off in the blink of an eye.
Finished Killzone on sunday night...graphically it was stunning and i cant wait to see what future games will look like. That chapter 4 that we saw at E3 looked just as good as it did in the reveal. I was definatly imagining how great a new mass effect would look or a half life 3

I guess the only letdown for me was the fact Killzone was the only game i wanted since i had the multiplats on the PC and there wasn't anything else that interested me and its going to be a while before the next top games get released now.

Cheers for this, just fixed my R1 using this method. No need to screw the back off though. Just get a small pin under the trigger and it pops off.
Is this only for customers that bought the console from GAME? I wouldnt mind getting Injustice, even tempted to get Knack!

No I was just christmas shopping and dropped in to see what they had.
It applied to anything with a sticker on it, the games are in the loft now as ive put them away for the step son for christmas.
These are brand new sealed copies by the way, not trade ins or "not for resale" copies.

For those that are interested, I've just looked at the copies of the games and as they are from stock and not off the shelf, there are no stickers on saying the promotion.
Both receipts from game however have "50% WBW HW -£22.50" promotion codes against the two games in question.

Welp my PS4 broke.
Standby issue was obviously more serious than I thought. Came home today and tried to turn it on, kept turning off and on and off and on and then did a Safe Mode disk check. Got into the dashboard and lines started appearing and flickering.
Must be a RAM fault I suppose if it couldn't come out of sleep, coupled with the video issues.
Good service from Sony though, replacement coming on Friday via DPD.

Had the same problem with the L1 button. Called Sony who said either go back to the retailer or send it to Sony who would take a look to see if it was faulty and they would possibly repair/replace.
Couldn't be bothered with the hassle so just popped off the L1 button with a thin blade screwdriver, cleaned it up as per the video and and added a smidge of WD40 on the posts and it's fine again now.
At least you'll have a new one by Friday. I've been impressed so far with how Sony are handling the faulty units.That's a reason why I game on consoles and not PC's, stability! So yeah, we're bitchin'
My ps4 kept hard crashing yesterday morning when trying to open Netflix, nothing else. Controller would flash then turn off. I couldn't even turn the ps4 off using the power button! I had to turn it off at the wall which was nerve racking to say the least. It booted back up in safe mode and done a disk check and it's fine now.

Unfortunately consoles aren't anywhere near as stable as they used to be. Mainly because developers have the ability to offer downloadable patches, which means they think it is 'acceptable' to release games before they are actually ready, then release a load of updates to fix the game to a point where it should have been released at.
E.g. Skyrim on PS3. A year after getting it, it still crashed the game every time I walked in/near water. Had to delete all the game data and reinstall and re-download updates.
Sometimes, you are worse off on console, as if the game crashes a lot, there normally isn't much you can do. On PC, there are many files hidden way for you to tinker with
That's just the download to tell your game you have access to it, the DLC will be much bigger.
Got a email from shopto today that my PS4 is being delivered tomorrow

How do you redeem the china rising pack? Did the game come with a code? Amazon said mine had china rising with it, but I can't see anything stating I have it.
Amazon changed the advert and have told everyone to call EA about the code. They advertised it as coming with but only sold the ones without.
I'm still arguing with them over it.
