I've tried wrapping the coil around the wick, and I've tried the drill bit method once.

It's an AGA-T2. The problem last night was crazy low resistance readings - I guess there must have been a short somewhere?

I'll give it my best go tonight and get some pictures. Going to go solid SS mesh wick done around a drill bit (well a small screwdriver).

I'll take a look at that guide Majnu, thanks for that.

And RedMogg, really appreciate the washers thing, don't hurry yourself it's a freebie, do it whenever you've got the time :)

NP, we're off out Xmas shopping later, so I'll post them then.

Check the pics out of my Aga T2: it's easily my favourite Genesis - despite being such a bugger to get right. But once you have it up and running, the flavour and versatility of what you can do to it re: coil & wick combos is pretty great for a 20 quid atty!

Btw, have you drilled your airhole out? Thoroughly recommend that you do if not. 1.2/1.5mm is the sweet spot ... ;)

Nobody want to buy these Joosejuice samplers? Nothing wrong with them, just 18mg nicotine + 50/50pgvg is too much for me. 12 x 10ml samplers for £12 delivered. Come on people that is a bargain :)

I'll buy them, at work at the moment though so won't be able to paypal until this evening if that's alright? Bit of a shame that you posted you were selling all your kit the day after I ordered myself the Evod Starter Kit, otherwise I would've had the lot!

I'm still waiting for my Evod to turn up but looking forward to it, still very new to vaping but I'm starting to get a reasonable idea. I reckon I'll get a better grasp on the coiling etc when I actually have something in front of me and I am planning to replace the coils myself at some point, but I might just stick with the replaceable coil heads for a little while. :p

Trilogue compromise discussions are under way (well, finished by now, I believe) regarding the TPD in Brussels.

Except the Lithuanian EU Presidency isn't agreeing to compromise whatsoever. In fact, they've apparently proposed to lower the maximum nicotine content per unit to 5mg, otherwise the product is illegal.

Those dissenting are being accused of being rude.

Looks like it's going to be a walkout, or a beleagured vote for ban and pursuant fights in court.

Why is it so bloody difficult for these people to make the right decision? Oh yeah, sorry... forgot about all that money they stand to lose.

What is the outcome of this? Vaping will or wont be banned / regulated in the EU?

E-cigarettes

E-cigarettes should be regulated, but not be subject to the same rules as medicinal products unless they are presented as having curative or preventive properties. Those for which no such claims are made should contain no more than 30mg/ml of nicotine, should carry health warnings and should not be sold to anyone under 18 years old. Manufacturers and importers would also have to supply the competent authorities with a list of all the ingredients that they contain. Finally, e-cigarettes would be subject to the same advertising restrictions as tobacco products.

Sounds like they will not be banned from this....

That was the previously voted for amendment to the original TPD.

As soon as it got back behind closed doors, the committee have gone ape all over it. We only know, in fact, because it was leaked somehow.

At the moment, they're essentially banned. The only ones allowed are medicinally regulated, and those that aren't are restricted to the degree that they'd be next to useless.

In fact, the latest stipulation that they've added on is that any e-cig device put on the market must not be operable, nor openable by a child.

You read that correctly.

What a load of hypocritical BS.... a) it is the vendors who should not be selling to kids... b) if they want to try something then they will now just go and buy a pack of menthol cigarettes like they always have!

It does say this on the website though...

"She also stressed that people would be able to buy electronic cigarettes the same way as before: "There never was a suggestion that e-cigarettes should only be sold in pharmacies. This is a national law issue. The EU law is simply about how to regulate the e-cigarettes."

Other than being able to buy things from europe without tax I have not actually seen ONE good thing happen to the UK since they joined the EU.

Ok let me know and I will get them posted to you.

TBH it does not seem to me that there will be any problem getting hold of electronic cigarettes.... considering that the people who voted on this are completely clueless anyway it would appear... You will still be able to buy the devices online and you will still be able to make your own liquid. People who know where to buy the parts and also DIY liquid will probably not have any issues... Here is a good article I read on it...

Much, much better! There's more contact of wire on wick; the resistance is generally lower and therefore more heat and more vapour, without the burning taste of silica. It's a much silkier and cleaner taste.
Obviously, the cotton must be kept wet; no dry burning to clean tge the same wick between tank fills - but then it's easier to just replace the cotton than rinse & dry ekowool.

You're effectively getting the dripper taste, without having to top up the wick every 5 puffs! In a Genesis tank, you don't get the juice discolouration that burning mesh or ss rope wick causes; you can pretty much vape an entire tank and the flavour will be the same from the fjirst test puff, until the penultimate chuff before the not-quite dry hit...

As you can probably tell, I'm a big advocate of microcoiling; if you need any supplies - get in touch. I've plenty of lower guage A1 Kanthal and organic cotton, as well as a couple of Greigster's Coil Buddies available. I do a full kit too, but I believe you're probably okay for the necessary kit. I'll send you the details of what the kit contains and if you're in need of something specific, I'm sure we can sort something that out ;)

Cheers Moggy, I've just made my first microcoil with cotton. I decided to start with 0.25mm Kanthal - 11 wraps gave me 2.65Ω. It went surprisingly well; no mistakes which, if you know me, would come as a bit of a shock :D

I definitely notice more vapour but at the moment, I'm not finding the flavour much better than ekowool. Maybe the cotton needs a few more toots to break in.

I've got a few old heads washed and rinsed so I'll have a bit more of a session and do those too. Will be so much easier replacing the cotton than having to make a complete new wick/coil every week or two :)

Got my Nemesis clone and Kayfun 3.1 clone today. Coiled the 3.1 with a 1.2 ohm microcoil and cotton. Clouds of vapour and the taste is beautiful.

I've got my Evod Starter Kit now, it seems great! I can only compare it to the fairly cheap cigarette replicas that I've borrowed from friends but it seems much better than them, a nice smooth vape with a decent throat hit and a lovely vanilla flavour.

Just went out for my first vape at work (in lieu of a cigarette) and it was great. Not feeling any cravings or anything, not that surprising considering I'm using 18mg nicotine juice but I didn't think the transition would be so easy.

It is a bit airy though, I wouldn't mind some slightly thicker vape... Better start modding! :D

Cover up one of the air holes with your finger when you inhale.

Cheers, will give that a try next time I go out.

So as well as the eliquids you're very kindly going to be sending to me (:D), which flavours would people recommend? I want to get some Grant's Vanilla Custard and Snake Oil, any others that people swear by?
