I've tried wrapping the coil around the wick, and I've tried the drill bit method once.
It's an AGA-T2. The problem last night was crazy low resistance readings - I guess there must have been a short somewhere?
I'll give it my best go tonight and get some pictures. Going to go solid SS mesh wick done around a drill bit (well a small screwdriver).

Check the pics out of my Aga T2: it's easily my favourite Genesis - despite being such a bugger to get right. But once you have it up and running, the flavour and versatility of what you can do to it re: coil & wick combos is pretty great for a 20 quid atty!
Btw, have you drilled your airhole out? Thoroughly recommend that you do if not. 1.2/1.5mm is the sweet spot ...
