When I worked in package delivery, it was the small items that got pocketed. Anything big and especially with tracking numbers never went missing from what I saw. Anything the size of sunglasses, that type of thing was a shift bonus for some.
Sometimes a parcel would come into the warehouse and accidentally get sent back to london or scotland, eventually it'd get sorted there and sent back and hopefully someone realises its for delivery locally and the postcode is wrong or whatevers the problem.
To steal something big would be either the inter depot big truck driver or the local driver and those guys were too well paid, I never heard of them bothering
