DPD lost my ps4

When I worked in package delivery, it was the small items that got pocketed. Anything big and especially with tracking numbers never went missing from what I saw. Anything the size of sunglasses, that type of thing was a shift bonus for some.
Sometimes a parcel would come into the warehouse and accidentally get sent back to london or scotland, eventually it'd get sorted there and sent back and hopefully someone realises its for delivery locally and the postcode is wrong or whatevers the problem.
To steal something big would be either the inter depot big truck driver or the local driver and those guys were too well paid, I never heard of them bothering

Bigger items can go missing, just takes a little more organising, The warehouse I worked at about 20yrs ago had all sorts of things go missing, from cpu's to the bigger things such as Amigas, the thieves eventually got caught and the 'operation' was found to have comprised of a picker, security guard and transport guy.

I just RTM'd his post so hopefully he will get dealt with. Pretty dumb of him to laugh at someone elses misfortune but then with a username such as his, its not surprising.

OP gutted for you:(, that really does suck. Id be saying to game that either they get one out to me pronto or refund my money so i can go elsewhere to get it from.

If it is the DPD driver then hopefully he will get sacked as well, scumbag.

Have to remember. Game have dome nothing wrong at all, it is a loss to them to.

They can only try help. Personally I would get a refund and look else where. Stores are getting a few stock in every other day.

Do you really think a DPD driver would risk his job, his livelihood as well as a criminal record for the sake of a PS4?

he would have to be a muppet tbh.

it could genuinely be lost, my local dpd driver is the best courier i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. he's really fast too at doing deliveries.

Some people will do anything for a quick buck, nevermind who they are or how much money they have.
Saying that though it's much more likely that it's sat in a corner of the warehouse somewhere with it's barcode missing feeling lost and lonely.

like i said he would have to be a muppet considering what he is risking losing for the sake of what £300-500?

it's not worth having a criminal record for that amount imo, never mind the whole losing job and having to explain to future employers why you were sacked, etc.

i know there was one company begins with a "Y" who got a lot of flack for stealing parcels when in fact it was staff at the retailers warehouse doing all the pinching before it was even given to the couriers.

i know you do get muppets out there, but i wouldn't be so quick to blame the driver for stealing it, imo it isn't worth the risk for such an inexpensive item compared to what his life would be like if he got caught.

Bit of an update game will get back to us on friday a dispute between game and dpd has been opened with gfu and a mention of compensation was said but still looking unlikely of getting my hands on a ps4 before xmas is looking as slim as a chicken nugget so looks like ill be getting my money back

To be fair, it is still unknown how it went missing, unfortunately you will probably never find out but there is always a chance a stranger stole it from the van. How many times do you see courier drivers lock their vans when leaving the vehicle unattended and making a delivery. It only takes moments for someone to open up the rear doors to the van and help themselves. Close the door and stroll off round the corner.

The driver will only find out when the number of parcels on the van dosent match the number of drops they did. Then trying to trace back what happened would be really difficult.

Also, do Game plaster their delivery boxes in Game branding and Game sticky tape? That would be an instant giveaway to a thief. I know the retailer I got mine from didnt exactly hide the contents of the box by covering it with branded sticky tape and a huge label up the side that says PS4 etc etc etc.

I had a PC case go missing with dpd once, ocuk sent me another next day, 10 days later it turns up so had to be refused, this could happen to your ps4 if it's lost at depot

I'm sorry, but if this was me I would have been on the phone with Game the minute it became apparent there was a problem. It would have been a short conversation. Can you get the console (and games?) I have paid for to me tomorrow? If yes, ok thanks for your help. If no, then thanks I will have my money back please.

The delivery going missing is a problem between the retailer and the courier - that dispute is none of your concern. All that should concern you is that the retailer has failed to fulfill your order. The fact they seem relictant to rectify this as a priority would be enough for me toget my money back and go spend my £350+ elsewhere.

The thing with game is there is no number to call, their customer service is almost non excitant

I brought a PC from OcUK about a year ago paid for next day delivery it left OcUK warhouse that day, It turned up to mine 3 days later!

DPD sux big time..I wish OcUK would use a better company

Yeah I see they pulled a lot of their published numbers.
Just go into a store and kick up a fuss tbh until they phone someone for you.
They have your money, as pointed out above what goes on between them and their contracted courier is none of your concern, you want what you paid for.
If you paid thru a CC, then maybe contact the CC company and advise of the difficulty yer having contacting them, they've already told you the parcel is lost.

I'd be going into a store causing a scene until they either refund me thru the CC machine or give me what I've paid for tbh

Rubbish, DPD are comfortably the best courier in the country. You might have had a bad experience with them, but that doesn't change how good they are in general.

Agree, we use a franchise of DPD who are excellent and the support from DPD itself for extra PC's etc is immense. We wouldn't use anyone else as they are the market leaders and for good reason. I'm actually going to the hub next January which should be interesting to see.

I have a PS4 being delivered today with DPD, either i'm blind or they have changed the site, but how do i see the number i am and where he his on maps.

I have is a green status bar which shows Collected, at depot, in transit ect.
I can not see any option to view maps / gps ect

Cool story you got there, Did you call DPD customer service and shout at the customer service rep and blame him/her personally like most UK people do?
