*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I would be tempted to just unplug the blasted thing and worry about learning the horrible menus.

Don't think either system was ready for launch but at least Sony opted for simple and to that add things on, which makes more sense.

I thought the menu system was a bit odd at first, but I find it pretty easy now I know where things are.

PS4 is obviously much simpler, but then again it can do less things than the XO.

Not having the ability to view hard drive space and what is using it up is mind boggling. Even an iPhone lets you do that.

Hope they turn things around, want to play Dead Rising 3 but not spending £430 on the rest of the mess.

Wish they did more incremental updates like Sony do.

I thought that, but have seen what he is moaning about.

The fact the Kinect is always on the listen, it does seem to react to conversations going on in the room and do things of it's own accord.

"Xbox Stop Listening" seems to be the most said thing for some.

Strange, I've had the XB1 since launch and it's only ever picked up 2 things unintentionally. The rest of the time it works pretty much spot on.

I think some have faulty mics on the Kinect, it just hasn't been picked up yet.

Only possible explanation.

To have people use one on demo, it work fine and then run into problems after they buy a system.... what else could it be?

I was running a decent spec Pc as well. 4770k & 780 GTX but it is much smoother on the PS4 and still has all the visual goodness of the PC version.

Just programmed for consoles better I suppose.

Haven't played the ps4 version but the PC version looks stunning...i guess being able to run it with 8xmsaa helps too...if the ps4 version looks close then it must be pretty impressive. Only downside with the pc version is the rubbish optimization.

I think you've made my mind up. I was wrestling with the choice of PC or PS4, but have heard too many stories of poor performance. Plus, your rig is quite a bit more powerful than mine, so it may be even worse.

Think I'll stick with PS4.

Are you being totally honest about the visual goodness though? I wont be losing too much compared to the PC version?

Yes. It looks identical to my eyes but it all runs smoother on the PS4. There is a little slowdown when at sea in a storm but nothing like the PC version.

It's just badly optimised on Pc so could be patched or fixed but this is UBI so I doubt it will be.

Look at killzone...it impressed me more than BF4 or crysis and im running a 7990 so the ps4 definatly has the power to look amazing and thats just a launch game.
The only downside is pc games cost around £30 and ps4 games are £50+ but hopefully they drop in the future when its not so new.

AC4 really is super sharp and clear on the PS4. Coming from a background where I would choose the PC over the PS3 or 360 for any multi plat games every time, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the PS4 version looks. Definitely a very close comparison to the PC version. There definitely is a difference in visual clarity after ubi released the 1080p patch for the PS4 version.

Would love to know what magic they are using to achieve this.. I'm running a 290X / 4770K @ 1440P Max settings. I would say the PS4 version is just as nice looking, with better AA and seems to run nicer, just better to play on PS4. Whatever AA method they are using, if only they could apply to PC ports :p

Amazing, hardly any heat / noise coming from the PS4 and it's rendering the game this well..

Not having to worry about DX, WinOS and multiple hardware configurations for a start helps a lot; and Ubisoft just doesnt try and do good/efficient PC 'ports' - thats the biggest issue with PC gaming, having resources to burn just lets developers not bother to optimise nearly as much as they have to do on consoles...

ps3ud0

Just ordered on Amazon for tomorrow, sadly it's just the knack bundle but I'll give it a chance.

Edit: Killzone now in stock too, ordered that.
