On the plus side, I'm not going mad, thank you. On the negative side that probably means it will not work any better unless Sony do anything about it.
Yeah i thought it was my console to begin with but after it working flawlessly on the other monitor/tv i assume it's just this brand of TV and maybe a few others.
If i have blue screen on in the TV settings it flashes from dark to light blue multiple times anywhere from 10-30 seconds. If i turned it off then it's just dark black to light black and the same time.
No idea why it does it, maybe it's because it's quite an old TV. It's like 6+ years old. I used to get it with a flash or two on the PS3 but the PS4 takes a lot longer to get onto the screen.
I'll see if i can get a youtube video of it and post it up to see if it is similar.
Mine isn't noisy at all, it's a shame it has that problem though. It's not enough for me to get rid of it as i like it a lot.
I'll just let it keep doing it until my TV dies and i can justify a new TV as it isn't worth it currently when everything else is fine.
Have you ever had any issues with the TV ? I haven't. I fear it may outlast another console generation.
Have you spoken to Sony about it?
No response to my support query, looked on the EU Support forums and there's quite a few people with similar issues, especially since 1.5.1, at least it eventually displays a picture, some get nothing.
So just to clarify, it DOES actually work on your old Toshiba...it just takes a while?
@ dakaiez that must be an HDMI handshake issue? once it's changed over does the PS4 work OK other than the initial flashing?

I bought a cheap hdmi switch in the hope that, as per several threads I have read with regard to a/v receivers having issues with tvs that putting it between the PS4 and the TV would allow the PS4 to handshake with it and the switch with the TV....
It works ! I had a false alarm as the extra hdmi cable I bought to accomplish this appears to be faulty but now the picture appears immediately on switching inputs, now to try dvd / blu-ray...
Duronic HDS3, remember your results may vary, as per the threads I read regarding a/v receivers, this switch just happens to work with my setup.
