*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Nav Bar DPI mod has been updated for 4.4.1. Works great with SoftKeyZ to change the navigation keys to other very nice ones. Happy Days :)

XTools and mavity Box are two other Xposed modules which are really really good for customisation. They provide the type of customisation that most look for custom Roms to do.

Has anyone had any problems with Dropbox not uploading camera pictures now since update.
Both ART and Dalvik I have to 'Turn Camera Upload' Off and turn it back on again to get it to sync correctly.
Cheers.

good! haven't heard much about issues tbh :) some returns etc but this is normal nothing like htc one gap issue etc... mine is perfect

Depends who you speak too I suppose, some people will be unluckly and get a bad one, and they're the ones that make the most noise.

Mine is fine, and so is my mates. Both bought from CPW on release day.

Think im going to go with a nexus 5 after owning and LOVING my nexus 7.. Going to have a play with one in CPW tomorrow.. Whats the screen like in terms of scratchproof? Needs a protector still or?

It's gorilla glass, same as most other smart phones now. Personally I don't bother with a screen protector, and (touch wood) haven't yet scratched any of the phone's I've had recently. However depending on how careful/lucky you are with phones, then it may be worth getting one. No reason not to get one I guess.

I have a 4s.. Always had protectors on the screen and iv trashed the protectors.. its in my pocket when i work with tools a lot so seems wise

Out of interest, with the 4.4.1 update how far off the performance of the s4 camera is the n5?

In which regard? In a lot of ways the N5 camera has always been ahead of the S4's camera, especially so in any low light photos.

In terms of the actual camera software, the Nexus's app is very bare compared to the S4, and doesn't offer all the special effects that the S4 offers, but this may or may not matter to you. In the time I had the S3 and then the S4, I only used one of the features once, so it wasn't a loss to me at all.

Regarding speed, the update improved the speed (camera opening times, focusing time, and picture taking speed) greatly, and must be very similar to the S4/

Don't forget that it's a lot easier to damage a screen protector than it is to damage the screen. So just because something scratched the protector, doesn't mean it would have definitely scratched the actual screen,

But yeah, if you've got the phone in an environment where it's likely to need it, for the sake of a few pounds you might as well.

Case wise? Whats the best to go for.. I have a slim 1.3mm case on my 4s at the moment and love it i don't like bulk.. Any recommended slim hardly there but will stop me damaging (scratch wise) the phone. Impacts i aint worried about massively just scratches i hate
