*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

If you bought a red car and everything worked apart from reverse didn't work... Would you take it back?
If the 2nd car you paid for arrived and everything worked but they sent you a pink car... Would you take it back.
If again the 3rd car was working but even brighter pink, would you take it back?

If there is a defect and features advertised don't work (no working gps) Then I'm within my rights to return. Also if the colours that should be white are all discoloured and yellow then that is good enough reason too. Surely this has no relation to the amount of times I may venture outside!?

But kept my 2nd one anyways as Google has done well to sort out some of the current issues and glad they have sorted the speaker as it was quite low in volume. Slowly getting g used to the N5 (having been with Apple and it's for a long time) Just need to read into if it's worth rooting and what all that's about

you do know you could just calibrate the screen so it didn't look so warm?

or use a custom kernel which does it for you

After having a nexus 5 at release and sending it back due to camera and speaker issues

I've now ordered another one, going to give it another chance with 4.4.1...

It's a cracking phone. I thought you had an LG G2 though? Fed up of waiting for LG to release updates?:p

Used to know a lot about phone until I got swallowed by iOS and apple. So a newb as never got into Android so this is my first device. I'm used to jailbreak etc but no nothing about rooting, what you can do or what advantages are!? Prob need a good starting guide to it all rather than grabbing bits from different places and messing my phone up.
Also does it affect updates or is it similar to apple where it over writes things and just need to be rebooted?

There's one over at XDA already. One of the threads has an updated mod posted in one of the later pages. Apparently it can cause issues with ART, but works fine with dalvik 4.4.1.

I tried that mod. It screws up the background for the pop ups for volume and reboot/power off menus. Turns them into a light grey colour which looks ugly.

I currently have a HTC One SV running on EE 4G payg, I was considering upgrading to the Nexus 5 due to its 1080P screen, LTE, Quard core Snapdragon and 2Gig ram. Do you think it would be worthwhile upgrade from HTC One SV?

is this a serious question? if so yes.

JDI...Just do it...

Gotta love the 4.4.1 update, it takes the N5 to a new level, however BS player isn't playing nice with the update and the volume on playback is really low. I hope the devs fix the issue on the next update.
