Owners of both PS4 And Xbox One

Was interested in hearing the views of people lucky enought to have both next gen consoles. Which do you prefer and which one has seen the most use.

I had both, sold my xbox one yesterday to CEX. I have not turned it on since I got my PS4. The DS4 just feels better to me, which I was shocked at because I hated the DS3. Also none of the xbox games had the next gen wow factor I got when I loaded Killzone.

Hoping this does not turn into a troll fest, hnestly interested to hear some opinions.
 
Comfort is key I guess. I'll be getting a ps4 when the stock level improves so I can enjoy the exclusives from both platforms. Having skype through the tv on the xb1 is a game changer for me though as it means I can talk to my family far easier than messing with my laptop which has a poor camera.
 
Xbox One has had the most use, finished Ryse and regularly play Forza 5 plus just bought Powerstar Golf. Also use it most nights for Xbox Fitness. It also gets used for my Roku box as I ran out of HDMI inputs on my TV, so stick it through the XO.

PS4 in comparison has only had a few hours of NFS Rivals, and I'm still on the first bit of Killzone after the initial "child" sequence as I can't really get into it. Played probably an hour of Resogun, which is good, but not a game I'm ever likely to play in depth. More 5 minutes here or there, or via my Vita sat on the bog or in bed.

Oddly though the PS pad has seen 2 full charges so far, whereas the XO controller is still using the original batteries that came with it. Of course, I've no idea how close those AAs are to being flat :p

I'm glad I've got both, but if forced to only have one right now it would be the Xbox.

I have both and I mainly play a 2D game on the PC.

I do try and split my time on them both. I try to do a mission a night on AC4 on the PS4, I do a hour or so on COD:Ghosts on the xbone. I have one night a week where I play DR3 with a mate from work, I'm also waiting for the fightstick to come out on the xbone though so I can play KI more. I also play the WW2 plane game on the PS4 and Resogun if I feel like a change.
 
I haven't played my Xbox One since PS4 launch day, the PS4 pad is so much nicer to use (And I preferred the 360 pad over PS3!), prefer the UI as the Xbox One UI feels messy and "clunky" in comparison, found it irritating that you have to be in a party with someone to invite them to a game (At least that appears to be the case for FIFA anyway).

I wanted to wait to see which console I preferred before I bought BF4 and NFS Rivals, so after giving it a week I picked both games up for PS4 on Saturday.

You know what, my hands actually feel more fatigued after the xbox one use and I've always preferred xbox pads.
 
I've had my XB1 since launch but only got my PS4 on Friday, so it's too early to tell for me. I already feel both consoles have their good and bad points, both from a UI and features point of view. From a games perspective, my favourite game so far has been Dead Rising 3 on the XB1, so like Nismo if I were forced I'd probably head that way. However, I'm very happy I have both and look forward to many hours of fun on both of them over Christmas.
 
My dealings with the Xbox One have been pretty frustrating, I can see what Microsoft are trying to do, it's just unfinished.

Sony took the other route of starting simple and then building on top, which is wiser.

PS4 gets the multi-platform crown and most of the games I like at multi-plat, so it's a no brainer.

Also get the sense Sony will put out more exclusives simply down to the fact they have far more first party studios on their books still. Whether they are any good though, is another thing.

And that DS4 <3 ... it's spot on.

The only thing that would lean me more towards the XB1 is if it was to be in the living room for the family to use. My son is too young to care at the moment and my Mrs likes playing point n click Indie\ Telltale games so there's far more likely scope on the PS4 in that realm.

PS4 is easier to move between rooms as and when.

Will probably get an XB1 when the price drops for the living room, but i'm in no hurry.
 
Had both and sold my Xbox One to CEX. Just prefer everything about the PS4, the controller, the interface, the design.
 
Forgot to mention the LB/RB buttons on the Xbox One controller, couldn't adjust to them at all...kept pressing them and nothing registered :( I'm aware you had to press them further towards the middle compared to the 360 controller but it was just frustrating having to adjust my grip every time I slipped back into holding it like I would a 360 controller
 
Having tried a mates XB1 at the weekend for a good few hours I'm pleased I went with the PS4, both are good in their own ways but I paid £80 less for a better console imho.
 
Firstly I was surprised by the Xbone, it was better than I expected and I enjoyed the first week I had it, although I did spend most of the time playing Forza (which was the main reason for getting the PS4). I played the other exclusives Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, both of which were good, and also had Ghosts and BF4 and thought BF4 looked excellent. My main moans with the console are no support for my Astro Headset and general lack of audio features, poor party interface, a massive kinnect which has a mind of its own and 3 faulty pads..

Then I got the the PS4 and was able to do some comparisons and was surprised by how much difference there was between the two. Party chat worked well and I was able to use my headset immediatly which means a lot when gaming. Installing times were much better or at least the wait before you could play was shorter. Graphically it is better and you just have the feeling that it has more potential. PSN+ gave a couple of free games on day one, and the F2P title Warframe is excellent and actually distracted me from some of the other games I bought and havent tried yet. Knack despite the low scores was actually good. I don't really have major moans with the PS4, there is stuff I'd like to see added but nothing that is spoiling the gaming experience and that is why the Xbone has not had much use since the PS4's arrival (apart from Forza).

So this sounds like the PS4 is a clear winner and if I had to choose one it would without a doubt be the PS4, however, the Xbone is a very good console with some fun games and it will remain that way. If you played BF4 for instance on the Xbone without seeing the other version you would be more than happy.

I'm happy with both consoles, the PS4 will be my "main" as I feel it is the better console and the Xbone will be used mainly for the exclusives.

7 gone for PS4s... 3 Xbox Ones.

Interestingly, 6 of the 7 were previously Xbox 360 users.

Seems to solidify my belief that the PS4 is more of a spiritual successor to the 360 than the XB1 is.
 
I've had both since their launchs, I have been playing the PS4 a lot more recently. I like them both but as somebody mentioned above, XB1 seems like it needs a bit more polish where as the PS4 is fairly simple by design. Both have room for a lot of improvements but as of right now I'm enjoying my PS4 more.

This is what I said to my friend when he asked me, if you never had both whatever one you had would be great. Both are big steps up from current gen. battlefield is an etirely different game with a higher frame rate and more players.

Going back to the xbox one control pad after using the DS4 felt like a step back to me. Also I hope they can fix the instal times on the xbox seemed really slow compared to the ps4.
 
Interesting read, I've only got PS4 atm but fully expect to end up with an Xbone at some point to get full advantage of all the exclusives.
 
this is why i own both for the exclusives, i need PS4 in the future for GT7 lol and xbone (as we call it here lol) gear of war, at the moment though forza 5 is getting all the attention just a shame half the tracks are missing and a lot of cars!
 
Picked up both consoles on their respective launch days.

Very satisfied with both consoles. If I'm honest there's a fair few flaws with the Xbox One's friend system and general online party creation which has been disappointing.

Overall I'm leaning towards the PS4 as a games console, but I'd suggest the Xbox One as an all in one entertainment device.

Essentially, what each console was aimed at... their the best at.

If you want (arguably) the best games next-gen console, get the PS4.
If you want a great games console that does a whole heap of other entertainment things... get the Xbox One.

Only thing I'd suggest, is to wait a little while for more games to come out on both games platforms. Obviously there's a lot of cross platform games, but in terms of exclusives there's nothing that really stands out.

I had a 360 for a couple of years at the beginning and I'd agree with you. I think Sony have realized that gamers are getting older and having families because being able to play remotely and keep the house quiet by plugging headphones in is a godsend for my young family all fighting over the TV. I can play BF4 in silence whilst my kids sleep in the same room and I can keep an eye on them whilst the mrs has a bath or something.

We had the likes of Gears of War, Alan Wake etc and a better online infrastructure with the party chat system. No frills, it just worked.

Why they strayed so hard from that is strange. If you are shifting a bucketload of systems, why mess with a winning formula?

And only just remembered those Wii Me rip off things. hahha Oh dear.

Confused company.
