Owners of both PS4 And Xbox One

I had a 360 for a couple of years at the beginning and I'd agree with you. I think Sony have realized that gamers are getting older and having families because being able to play remotely and keep the house quiet by plugging headphones in is a godsend for my young family all fighting over the TV. I can play BF4 in silence whilst my kids sleep in the same room and I can keep an eye on them whilst the mrs has a bath or something.

I read in the paper the other day that the average age of a gamer is 30. :)

For me the Xbox is getting a lot more of the play time but I think that's mainly due to the games I got for each system (Fifa, Forza, Ryse DR3 Xbone and AC4, KZ PS4). I am also really enjoy the integration with the likes of Netflix and kinect not quite loosing novelty status for me (yet).

I intended on cancelling one of the pre orders but couldn't bring myself to do it haha. I had a few phases:

1. Cancel both as I am a PC gaming master race noob
2. Cancel PS4 and keep xbox
3. Keep both.

Ultimately I kept both, but I never entertained the idea that if one console was going that it would be the Xbox, it was always the PS4 that was going to get binned if any. I think that may mainly be due to the fact I have a pretty beefy PC so the hardware difference wasn't really a big issue. I enjoy my gaming/have a well paid job so price wasn't a big deal, just came down to games and Xbox was the better choice for me. To be honest, I think the PS4 is really there because I didn't want to have to deal with trying to source one when the likes of infamous/the order comes out.

I can see why a lot of people prefer PS4 and I will no doubt enjoy it more as I get more games for it.

I've had both since launch and I've enjoyed my time with both greatly.

So far the Xbox One has had the most use but that's because in my opinion it had a far superior lineup of launch titles.

In time I expect this will change somewhat. I'm undecided on which controller I prefer but think I'm edging towards the DS4. I prefer the smaller physical size of the PS4 and the PS4's UI is sleeker and easier to navigate in my opinion. PS Plus is also a big factor with regular free games.

So to summarise, right now my Xbox One is seeing more use but when the games start flowing I'm confident I'll edge more towards the PS4. I'm also thinking the PS4 will be my console of choice for multiplatform titles but to some extent that is dictated by which machine most of my friends end up buying.

I've enjoyed Dead Rising 3 and Ryse more than anything on the PS4 and Ryse is easily the best looking launch title of both consoles by a mile. Saying that though I have to give the edge to the PS4 just because of it's fluidity and simplicity compared to the Metro UI the One has adopted. Silly little things on the Xbone like the inability to see storage space and no way to see what apps you have open annoy me. Also it's great how easy it is to record game play on the PS4 with a simple touch of a button instead of talking to konnect. Snap, unsnap, snap...

I enjoy both consoles, graphically they look the same. Not fussed about the pads etc, they are perfectly fine for the games I play. Only playing my Xbox One at the moment because of Killer Instinct, no other games interest me which I can play on my PC.

I haven't touched my PS4 since the weekend I brought it so I lent Killzone to my friend as he has more time to play computers games than I do.

I really like them both, but I prefer my PS4 by a good margin.

Better controller, the sticks and trigger buttons on the One controller are not the best.

Better games for me, Forza and Ryse are very pretty, but Ryse is truly a turd game and Forza feels empty compared to 4 and GT5, Dead Rising is fun, but I was never the biggest fan of the series to begin with. I've played more of the free to play games on PS4 than I have of the games I paid for on Xbox, and I finished Dead Rising and Ryse.
Killzone, Black Flag, Ghosts and (when it works) BF4 have all been great buys, Warframe and War Thunder are both excellent games that I'm loving and will support financially.

PS4 seems like it is off to a very good start. Xbox One will get there in the next year or two with hardware and software maturity and the inevitable exclusives.

Until Titanfall I think my One will gather dust as it looks like there is zero reason to multiplayer on One over PS4, PS4 even has a bigger player base in all of the games I've checked.

That makes sense if this article is correct.

If Sony really have sold 66% more consoles, then that is quite some margin. Microsoft will have a hard time getting exclusives if PS4 has a much larger install base.
I think M$ will likely respond with price cut's after xmas.

Xbox One: By far has had the most play time from me, the release line up suited me most. Finished Ryse and DR3, and still playing KI and surprised with Fifa.

PS4: Been playing BF4, pretty good just about to sink some time into. Downloading AC4 now and tried to play some Injustice but its a ghost town online.

Overall, I love them both. Ps4 feels more next gen to me however, but the xbox has delivered on the games for me.

Ive had both since there respective launches, and I have to say I like them both equally. I like Forza 5 on the Xbox One as I have always liked the series, and I enjoy NFS: Rivals PS4. But both consoles are good, and I don't regret buying any of them to be fair.

As for noise, I cant say the PS4 is much louder than the Xbone, but I will admit that Xbone 1 is slightly quieter than PS4, but then with my surround sound system on and distance I am from them, I don't hear either of them.

I have XB1 with FIFA & Forza and PS4 with Killzone.
I like them equally to be honest but my Wii U is getting all my attention at the moment with SM3DW & Pikmin 3.

Got both consoles on launch day and I am loving them equally.
Seem to be playing XBOX more, mainly because of Forza (a huge racing fan)
Got Killzone on PS4 and while the graphics are the most amazing I have ever seen, even compared to my high-end gaming PC, the gameplay is rather average.
Kinect on XBOX is like magic when it works which is about 80% of time. I haven't tried motion on Kinect so I cannot comment on that but based on the reviews, the launch kinect games are rather pooh. Hopefully things will improve over time.
Overall I think both consoles are great but at times they feel like they are in beta still, more so on the XBOX than the PS4.

I've not been that impressed with either so far but that's fairly standard when buying a console at launch. I've got forza and FIFA on the xbox and while forza is the best game on either console the way micro transactions are done on it annoys me a lot, FIFA is probably a good game but it's not my scene. On the PS4 I enjoyed ghosts and it did look good, killzone I've found fustrating due to it not saving checkpoints if you quit the game. The games will come though and I like getting consoles at launch even when there's nothing to play :p

I prefer the PS4 surprisingly. I was a massive 360 guy, and only used my PS3 for Netflix, so never expected to prefer the PS4 but I do.

I like the One, and I do think its exclusive game lineup will be superior to the PS4 in future, but the PS4 just feels more polished. The dashboard is better IMO, the XB1 is a little weak, and I'm not a huge fan of all this Kinect rubbish.

So this gen, for multi plats, I actually think I will be getting them on the PS4... Never expected to say that.

My Wii U turns up tomorrow, so I'll have all 3 :) that's just for fun games though.

When Naughty Dog and co get going you might change your mind about who gets the best exclusives.

I had both, sold the PS4 as I preferred the One overall. I made a nice profit on the PS4 too :)

Killzone was gorgeous but too boring, while I Ryse on the One was a much better game, for me anyway. Fifa 14 played better on the One, also got The Legends on the Ultimate team.

Both consoles have plus and negative points and really we are lucky have two "Next-Gen" consoles released so close together - this is from a gamer/gadget freak point of view.

2014 will be a very interesting year for both consoles.

I knew PS4 was quicker to install than Xbone but hadn't realised how big the gap was!
