2 days ago I was told I was going to vegas for an urgent bussiness trip, last night told I wasn't then an hour before the flight departure told I was so I sped to the airport and got on the plane just before their closed.

I'm staying in weird hotel in the middle of no where (suncoast) and no idea how to spend my time. Tbh, Vegas is my idea of hell on earth, mind true to form it looks horrific. I ventured down to the casino and had a couple of beers. Jesus, what a cesspit of desperate lost souls cranking away the slot machines. A few black jack and craps players thrown in. It also looks like you can get free drinks served by some scantily clad cowgirls if you are gambling. Question 1, do you have to play at a certain price point or wait a certain amount of time to get drinks? I did see some robots pulling on the bandits getting some free drinks but it looked like they had been there long enough to require an intravenous drip.
I could play black jack but it is pretty boring for me trying to play an optimal gain and inevitably loosing to the casino so do the drinks flow freely enough to make it worth the effort?

Currently digging into a cheese cake slice big enough to feed a family of 4 for a week while vegging out on the king sized bed.

Tomorrow I will likely head out further afield, anything worth exploring in the evening? Will be working in the day, have a meeting Wednesday morning and fly back Wednesday lunch.

Greatest place on earth, and one I wish to visit again every single day.

Go for a drive in the desert and lose yourself.

I can do that back home, and the dessert is pretty dull this time of year (it's currently below freezing).

If I had time I would go to the Grand Canyon but I only have a couple of evenings.

I guess we're just different. I wake up every single day wishing I was back there. I absolutely love it.

I really don't see how you can like it, it's just horrible.
I can see why people might like to gamble but there are far better places in the world to do that with way more things to see and do, e.g. South Lake Tahoe - ski all day and then gamble all night., or Monte Carlo , or Switzerland or my local Indian casino on the oregon coast...

There's only one way to really see Vegas and that's with two bags of grass, seventy five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid....

The pinball hall of fame is good fun.

Also some great restaurants there if you've got a good expenses budget.

The complimentary drinks whilst gambling are never worth it. The casinos aren't stupid. If you want to drink, go to a bar.

However, if you're looking to gamble for fun then I suggest playing some craps. The house edge can be fairly low if you play the right way and rolling dice is always entertaining.

I thought it was a cool place to stay for a few days, lots of nice hotels, nice setting, lovely surrounding scenery to visit but I don't understand how somebody could want to be there every single day. There are so many other great places to also see in the USA, let alone Vegas, that waking up every single day in Vegas would seem such a waste of a wish :p

Vegas is a cess pool but anyone can find something they like there. See a show, eat, drink, gamble, hire a pro, get married, whatever. Last time I went for personal rather than business reasons I just went to a gig and ate well.

Vegas is pretty much at the bottom of places I would ever want to visit, somewhere behind Iraq, Afghanistam and Syria. I just don't understand the appeal at all.

I appreciate that this doesn't help to answer your questions, the city just makes me angry thinking about it :p
