Am I allowed to drive my parents car if they have a disabled tax disc?

Obviously I am insured to drive it, just a question on the tax side of things.

Fair enough. Seems very wishy washy though.

Driving the car to work to earn some money to pay his bills are surely for his personal needs?

I agree, the link doesn't give you much to go on. There must be an official body you can check with somewhere just to make sure. Maybe give Citizens Advice a call?

You say this, but are you named on their RSA motability policy or are you basing this on your DOC on your own policy?
Last time I checked with RSA (2 years ago) they told me categorically that unless a driver was named on their policy they could not drive the car. DOC cover is not valid on a motability policy.

If the car in question is a motability car then yes DOC isn't allowed. But you can have a disabled tax disc on a privately owned car, where DOC cover would be adequate for insurance purposes.

Fleet.

True, not sure why I forgot that as I have a disabled disc in my own car!
