If humans didn't ever sleep.....

Russian sleep experiment (can't verify how real that is).

Possibly the most disturbing thing I`ve read online yet.

If we had twice as long to work on problems (eg without sleep) we`d just have twice as long to procrastinate.

If we had no need to sleep we would be more advanced probably, as we wouldn't get so tired.

Not twice as advanced though

Working with the assumption that we don't need sleep as a thought experiment only. It wouldn't make a huge difference considering that we do not work for the entire 18 hours we are awake on average. Plus, consider this, the time zones mean that there's always someone working on a problem at all hours. Answering your question I think.

The fattest man wouldn't be fatter, he would less alive. His current sleep pattern is not the mortar to the building of this 'fat' success.

I think most people are missing the point of this topic.

It's not simply "if you never went to sleep, you'd be tired LOL", the OP is giving you a hypothetical situation in which our bodies/brains do not need to sleep, ever.

In which case, yes, we most likely would be a lot more advanced than we are now, simply by way of our greatest minds having twice the uptime.
