I found the primary difference between cigalikes (like nicolites) and a proper kit (like the EVODs) is that the EVODs are satisfying. Not just in terms of nicotine but in terms of the way they work. They make a satisfying amount of vapour and they provide a satisfying amount of flavour and a satisfying throat hit.

The cigalikes just require an excessive amount of effort in general. You have to charge them all the time and replace the refills all the time and getting a good toot off one is like trying to drink McDonalds milkshake when it's too cold. With EVODs the battery will last all day for most people and the tank will last a whole work day. And because you get two, you can take both tanks if you find you use more than a tankful.

Here's the longer bit:

The kits will generally be two 'complete' ecigs.

The battery and the tank make up the unit itself.

Charger

The batteries on all of these are 'ego' type batteries which use the ego threading which is very common and the 510 thread is on there too which is even more common. You can get loads of different tanks to fit them.

EVOD tanks as an example are 1.5ml and are really easy to fill, and easy to change the heads on when they get worn out. The heads tend to last anywhere between a week and a month, and they're only a couple of quid, it's a bit less than a tenner for five.

The batteries won't be variable voltage or anything like that but will be 3.7v (ish) which is perfectly fine for the normal clearomisers like EVODs, Protanks, Protank Minis and the iClears - those are the ones that tend to be in the beginner kits. They're perfectly good especially to start out with, definitely good enough to keep you off cigarettes and loads of people just keep using them indefinitely, but because you're on here you're probably a huge nerd and will end up playing with rebuildables and stuff later on. But for now don't even worry yourself about it, just grab a beginner kit and toot away. I personally find a 650mah EVOD battery lasts me all day easy peasy.

The charger will just be a USB one probably with a mains adaptor too.

I personally think that £29 kit I linked to is absolutely perfect for starting out with, the price is right, it's proper branded stuff that won't explode and the EVOD clearos are miles better than the iClears I've tried which IMO were total poop but do seem quite popular.

PardonTheWait, sorry, completely forgot to reply to your earlier post! Thanks very much for the above info. I think I'll go ahead and buy that EVOD you linked.

Here's some things I need to know though. The Nicolites aren't giving me much satisfaction, and I'm inhaling on 16mg strength. I believe I can buy much higher strength, so shall I buy something like 30mg? And where from? I need an amount of juice of that is equivalent to a 25g pack of cutters choice tobacco, and the same strength of nicotine. So how much juice should I purchase?
 
Start on 18mg. Nic strength isn't the be all and end all, a lot comes from the effectiveness of the device you are using, EVOD atties being far more effective than any cig-a-like device.

30mg is far too strong imo

Been moving on to more "boutique" juices recently, but Joose Juice are cheap as chips and do 10ml samplers. They all need a good steep before using though, which is a pain if you're itching to try them :p

Aside from them, I used to use ecigwizard, which weren't bad.

The EVOD/Protank Mini kit on there I think is quite popular too but the way I see it, you get two with the one I linked and if you want to get an Aspire BDC or a Protank Mini or a Protank or whatever later on, you've already got batteries and chargers and whatnots already. I found the EVODs pretty rad though. I'll let you know what I think of these Aspires if you want, they should be here tomorrow.

I smoked rollups before I quit and when I bought my juice in the first place I got some Dekang stuff from myepack. It was fine I guess but there's much nicer out there. I got 18mg and 12mg and 6mg... I went down to 12mg very soon, after just a couple of tanks, and just stayed there. I didn't buy any more Dekang though. It's fine but it's not great.

Probably best to do the same sort of thing I guess, buy a few strengths and see which you like.

Joose Juice are SUPER cheap if you want to try all different juices to get an idea of what you do and don't like because you can just buy a huge pile of 10ml samplers for very little money to try them all out. If you don't like them too much then who cares, they're only £1.50 as opposed to £4-5 like most places charge for 10ml.

They definitely improve with a couple of weeks with the top off though. Some of them were really gruesome before steeping so don't be put off if they ming when you first open them!

Mmvapours have the temon half price ATM. So if you like genesis atomisers and can live with their traits then for around £46 delivered UPS it's pretty good buy. Mine should be arriving tomorrow. But I m guessing you'll be using the kayfun mini.:D

I will get the spheroid hopefully with the v3 upgrade for mine too but after the Heron comes out as it will drive second hand prices right down. ;)

I have both the Temon and Spheroid, so either of them for the micro stick, the KayFun mini I'm saving for the Purple Orchid:D

MMV are top quality. The Temon for £46 delivered is a bargain, have you seen the TNS? I do like Jim's work but this looks a little gimmicky for me, much like the Dome! I think I may resist:D
 
Watched some youtube vids to get all clued up on how these vaping kits work. So I've just joined the vaping crowd. Bought the EVOD starter kit and a handful of 10ml flavoured juices from myepack. :) It was just over £40 so qualifies for free shipping.

 
Yellow kiss Arrow Ti22 finally made it through customs - looks incredible on the Ti22 BaGua with Mrs Lord's Druide inside - pity I'm still not sure if i love or hate it...

My JM22 Mod & Pulse-G clones arrived this morning too, via Swiss Post - 12 days from order to my door!
Stunning mods - just need to sort out the disappointingly soft bottom button spring for either a stronger one or magnets.
Will post pictures of the last few arrivals at a more reasonable hour...

Oh, replacement of phones turned up too...

Yes I saw the video for it yesterday and it is good for dual wicks. The Dome's base is too busy for my liking though. The Inax or Nahual have the perfect solution for that.
 
My order from October from FT that never arrived is now past the 8 week unconditional refund date. refund requested. At least it wasn't the Nemesis!
