Agreed, the movement is still awkward. However, I set up the key bindings to be as similar to ArmA 3 as possible which helped a little.

The Kamenka spawn is now pretty good. There is an industrial base with a hospital to the North now, and Zelenogorsk has a lot of good stuff. Now to venture further North!

Is there a Steam group for those who might like to group up?

Hopefully they add a lot and improve it but right now it just seems like DayZ mod with a different UI and some new things.

I wonder how the game will fare on my system. The melee combat looks dire. I appreciate it's an alpha, however.

how long did it take to axe that first guy to death??

Having never played this I don't know if that's normal, but it was quite painful to watch.

i5 2500k
8GB RAM

I can just about play smoothly with most settings on medium/low with certain things off but it still gets laggy in cities.
 
So i just found out the hard way that you can now punch people :(

Struck absolute gold at the balota military camp - M4 with almost all pristine parts and 2 sights, three 60 round mags and full tactical gear. Hid in a tent to eat something and this cheeky fresh spawn bolts in and knocks me out in a single punch whilst I'm eating. I HAD A HELMET ON FFS!!!!

Ohhhh this brings back sooo many memories. Now please excuse me whilst I go and throw my PC out the window...

Have you played it? Yes there's room for lots of improvement but it runs well, looks really good and some of the added features to the map (such as apartment towers where every room is completely enter able) are great.

just had a scarey moment was in a firestation in elecktro pitch black cant see nothing mid way up thought i heard something look round guy with a payday 2 mask on with axe i smashed him and now i have the mask ;)

The axe weilding man in black came out of nowhere, I only had a cap on, down I went.

I'm avoiding large towns from now - IT JUST AINT WORTH THE SODA POP! :)

Was showing my GF the game, running around while waiting for something to download.

I got hit and was bleeding and out of no-where a voice comes "Hey, come here I'll bandage you" - I didn't have a weapon, neither did he so the only thing to do was be nice. He dropped some rags, I bandaged up.

We decided to run to Balota and check it out, nothing in the hangers or ATC. So I decided to sit as a lookout and then took fire from someone in full Army gear with an M4.

I ran inside, we stood at the top of the stairs and the guy ran in.. I'd like so say it was a happy ending but trying to punch this guy got me murdered. Shame, the other guy was really nice.

A rare occurrence for me, had I had a weapon I'd have mowed the first guy down immediately :D

Maybe because my son was watching to, I was being nice ;)
 
Anyone else having sound problems? I get continuous zombie and coke can opening noises every 5seconds! Not sure if food/drink is working for me either, I'm always thirsty.
