*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

You should add the Metroid Prime Trilogy and the original Mario Galaxy to your uber list, Merlin :) It'd be a crime for people who missed these on the Wii not to play them. Oh, RE:4 - altho I guess everyone must have played that?!

^ Even though I already own prime 1 & 2 on GC and 3 on Wii, I really what the Metroid Prime Trilogy in my Wii Collection but it's so rare/expensive atm.
I remember seeing it on the shelf in <purple name highstreet store> a few years back and pondering on whether to buy it or not - wish i had now.

I've been slowly expanding my Wii collection and recently picked up:
Muramasa: The Demon Blade (beautiful side scrolling RPG)
Silent Hill Shattered Memories (also a PS2 game but a great Wii port. very nice use of motion controls and great survival horror game, has that classic horror atmosphere that SH1/2 had)

Regarding ZombiU i would definitely recommend it too - but keep in mind that its a survival horror/adventure game, not a survival action/fps game.

It appears that Wii Sports Club requires Motion Plus to work at all (see http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Wii-U-download-software/Wii-Sports-Club-806816.html)
I haven't tried it with my regular wiimote myself, but Iwata pointed out that MotionPlus was required during Direct yesterday so I'm assuming it's still the case.

You could do top spin and back spin in the original Wii Sports, but it's definitely more accurate in Club
I've been addicted to the training mode with the rings - took me a while to get a feel for it again but it very satifying when your shots start going exactly where you want them too with the right height :cool:

My bad - I didn't hover my mouse over the controller icon - it gives a tool text "wii remote plus" when you do so. I just saw the icon and it looked like a standard wii mote.

So it's motion plus wii mote or a standard one with the adaptor fitted.

Great price. I've been borrowing a friends copy, but for that money it's a no brainer.

Has anyone tried the multiplayer btw? - it's a bit thin on content, but totally surprised me with how much fun it is dropping zombies on people. There's the potential for an epic L4D style multiplayer game there.
 
Excellent. Zombie u on boxing day, will try to pick up Mario galaxy 2nd hand from Game. Will get monster hunters too.
 
I think i read somewhere that Mario 3 will be released on boxing day on the Eshop at a reduced launch price at like £2 odd or something. Hoping its true, its one of my all time favourite games. :cool:
 
Good price. SMB 3 or SMW - the endless debate :)

It'd be nice if they released Super Mario Allstars on VC - although that would mean they can't bleed us dry for each game separately.
 
Just picked picked up Wii Party U. No idea if the game will be any good but I wanted another Wiimote and it was cheaper to buy this than a new wiimote on it's own.
 
I just picked up Super Mario 3D World @ ShopTo for £29.86, imo its a good price, very rarely will you see a top Mario game like this drop any lower.
 
Anyone had trouble getting on the store today? I dont know if its how far my wii u is now from my router or just a problem since the nintendo direct yesterday, been trying without luck to download remix.

Personally I think its complete and utter cack - but my girls think its the best game ever made.

It gets a lot of play in our house!
