I have the estate (as above) and I can testify it is very big, It is bigger (slightly) than the old style volvo brick estates! Makes inner city driving a touch painful, but on the moterway or on the way to the tip it's awesome
I unmap it when I take it to the dealers, so they don't wipe the map with a software update. Process takes about 2mins. Insurance costs me about £50 more a year (£300 instead of £250).
FerretBoy said:I have the 2.5t Estate, mapped to 260ish bhp and it's great fun for a sensible reasonably priced family size car. Driving it is always a pleasure, the economy is pretty poor, but then I cannot resist using all of the accelerator. It has tons of torque over a very wide range.
With the remap it's performance is around the same as the Focus ST (stock), maybe a tiny bit quicker.
Edit: Also I can't see any point trying to put more power in the engine than 260, it's already always wanting to wheel spin in second gear. For more power youd need rear wheel drive.
Be about 18 in town and 28-30 on long runs.
Do you have a bluefin map? Are these easy to switch on / off at will?
What is your MPG like around town and then on long cruises in this? <25 in town and about 40 on long drives?
Helios, lovely looking motor.
I was days away from grabbing a 58 plate Colarado red 2.5T TXS. Stunning looking car. Unfortunately sold by time I got the money together and the next one I found that I liked was £2k more.

It'd blow your Audi into the weeds.
217bhp vs 140bhp. Hmm. There's more to a cars performance figures than 0-60.
And see post #5.
