R9 290X TrueAudio VS Onboard Sound

ROFL you do make me laugh how everything I say you read as a slight towards AMD.

The WF3 is a **** good cooler and utterly silent at normal levels and I know the volume levels it produces from experience with it all the way upto removing 450watt its max rated heat level not saying it will need to remove that from the 290 :D

Your talking about GTX 470's, an entirely different GPU.

I use no conjecture in my debates with you, i use results from respected reviewers tests, thats why those slides are there, like it or lump it, don't moan.

My 470s don't use the WF3 cooler and I only included them in the topic as they are some of the hottest and noisiest cards you will run into when running a max overclock on the reference cooler :D (and also the cards I had in my system at the time when trying to help a couple of people with the blackscreen/redscreen problem with 290s) which gives me a good perspective as to the levels the 290 series actually put out under normal conditions and when they get a bit warm.

Its conjecture, your using an entirely different GPU.

Reviews show the 290X has give or take depending on review the same levels of noise, heat, power consumption and performance to the GTX 780TI.

What is the point your trying to make with those GTX 470's?

The 290X is no better and no worse than its rival, that is my point, so i ask again. whats yours?

My point was I know for myself exactly how in the real world the 290s stack up compared to some of the noisest GPUs you can find. I haven't said at what level they compare just that I know for myself exactly how they compare ;)

EDIT: Also not conjecture I know how that cooler performs at different levels regardless of what card its on.

I don't think people realise how decibels work either :p

As far as reference goes, the R9 290X is just an inferior card to the 780Ti, in thermals, sound and performance (Although not much more performance)

Some Cheese has blue bits in it, what do i win?

I mean for goodness sake if your going have a debate with someone at least have a point instead of just making random statements.

I'm not making a random statement - your just completely missing the intention of what I'm stating. (While you read everything I say as a slight towards AMD - which is abundantly demonstrated above) you won't get the point of what I'm saying).

Your saying you know how Reference 290/X compare to your GPU's, but are not saying what they are, and your also not saying how they compare.

Its not a point at all, its just an empty statement.

I really don't see how that can be interpreted any other way than, AMD knows the data and nobody else does. the rest of the quote "We are alone in our ability to provide audio data that reflects the games going on". they are saying that nobody else has the data.

Because no one else has the capability of using that specific data VIA AMD TRUE AUDIO.

The quote is 100% correct, if you still disagree, please point out who else has the ability to output audio in the exact fashion described in TA enabled titles.

That's the quote from the interview, but please for give my ignorance, obviously any 3d positional audio systems that have come before this didn't have any access to positional or environmental data, how could I have been so stupid, please I beg you do not chastise me further for daring to speak my unworthy words against the god that is AMD.

If you still can't grasp it, then read more about it, three different posters have tried to explain now, either that or there is an ulterior motive on your part which looking at the second quoted post, it's looking like blatant flaming/baiting playing the now tiresome 'can't say anything bad about AMD' card.

Your standard 5.1 surround system DOES NOT have access to the same positional information, it does NOT replicate height, nor precise position in the x/y plane either. So no, to date nothing has offered this accuracy before. Your standard 5.1 surround system nor any audio cards I know can accurately process the sound to make it replicate the environment it is in. Indoors, outdoors, caves, echoes, outside at night, outside in the day, etc, etc.

No, current position 3d DOES NOT do this and True Audio will be the only thing in game that offers this.

/me slaps DM with Aureal, Miles sound library and/or EAX4/5.

Whats more lacking is any developer actually pushing these features into useage and doesn't help MS (and creative) pretty much sabotaged a lot of the efforts.
