whats the worst that can happen, you end up with a pair of 290's for £600 still a pretty sweet deal
A pair of 290's is going to make light work of most things. It would be nice to get some games that make use of all the umph the PC can offer.
Killzone on the PS4 is stunning and running on paltry hardware in comparison. Can you imagine how games would look and run if they were programmed to make use of a pair of 290's....

Went ahead and got the R9 290, hopefully it will be a nice boost and won't get bottle-necked by my 2500k once I squeeze some more MHz out of it since my H70 arrived last week.
Hopefully this VTX card will clock as well as my current VTX 7950.

That's what im planning, but i may pass on star citizen. Already got two copies of Thief and own BF4 with two copies spare so the first two mantle games ill own at least anyway.
Where the rest of us think the X stands for making people think there buying an R290x instead of just a R290..I think the x stands for +28mhz on core in this case, which was nice of them.
