Also, you're wrong about the Magna Carta too. Which is no surprise given how little you know about this country, it's history or how it's governed. A key point about the Magna Carta was that it established rights for all free poeple of England, very clearly and explicitly stated as such.

The Queen makes more money from tourism than she spends on living. You don't pay for her.

Duke is right. I have no interest in the Queens speech but I can see what the monarchy brings to this country in terms of tourism and our presence on the World stage.

Shes the ultimate celebrity tbh. Charles will probably be a bit of a wet blanket but I can see William taking up the mantle nicely. The royal wedding and baby are evidence enough of the worlds interest in our little land.

Annual financial reports (PDF) for the Sovereign Grant is probably a reasonable place to start. Page 5/81 gives the introduction and explains that the Sovereign Grant is calculated as 15% of the net surplus for the financial year two years previous e.g. 2013-14 the Grant is £36.1m based on the net surplus in 2011-12 being £240.2m. I didn't watch the Queen's Speech, I can't remember if I ever have but I'm sure I must have done so at some point.
