Chateau Miranda (13) damn that is creepy!!
This really bugs me too. It's not artistic at all and doesn't add anything to the scene. Looks like someone just randomly added 'scary' looking filters in photoshop. I want to see the environment for what it is, not your ***** interpretation of it.
The source of the woodpecker that used to blight the HF bands. I'm insanely jealous of you for not only seeing it but climbing it as well. Got any photographs you can share of the array?
How the heck does that thing even stand upright?

The Wiki page for the Miranda place has pretty much the same photo as the article, but without the post processing. What a difference...

Someone handsome should write a book about spooky places.
Great idea! They should do one just for Britain, boy that'd be sweet!![]()

Preferably as eerie as possible. Sounds good enough for a sequel!
I wonder if I could get it on kindle!?
I agree - the book I have is written by one hell of an ugly *******.
I jest! You're average. No really, you are ****ing ugly.
Here's a comparison. Ooh creepy. Why not just let me see it as if I were there.
Isn't Pripyat pointless now seeing as you can't get into the buildings anymore?
I find places like #3 quite soothing actually. Nice place to have a wander alone with your thoughts.![]()
Suprised this did not make the list

Though beautiful, I rarely look at abandoned places photographs anymore. They're nearly always oversaturated with colour and look toylike and unrealistic. If they were just left as they were or with minimal processing they'd look a lot better. Doing this strips them of any atmosphere, which is totally counterproductive to their point.
