The 38 Most Haunting Abandoned Places On Earth.

This really bugs me too. It's not artistic at all and doesn't add anything to the scene. Looks like someone just randomly added 'scary' looking filters in photoshop. I want to see the environment for what it is, not your ***** interpretation of it.

The Wiki page for the Miranda place has pretty much the same photo as the article, but without the post processing. What a difference...

The source of the woodpecker that used to blight the HF bands. I'm insanely jealous of you for not only seeing it but climbing it as well. Got any photographs you can share of the array?

That's the one. I'm not supposed to share anything identifying as they can work out what guides took me to it. I've grayed my mates face out of this one so should be ok. You can see the sketchy ladders we had to climb, this is about the third of the way up.

Here's a comparison. Ooh creepy. Why not just let me see it as if I were there.

I don't think the photographer had you specifically in mind for their photo. The photo on the right is a bit overdone, but the photo on the left isn't a very good photo either. Each to their own.

Isn't Pripyat pointless now seeing as you can't get into the buildings anymore?

I find places like #3 quite soothing actually. Nice place to have a wander alone with your thoughts. :)

Why can't you go in the buildings?

I would have loved to go there before the tourism. Would still like to go, but feel like iv'e already seen it all with all the photos floating about.

Though beautiful, I rarely look at abandoned places photographs anymore. They're nearly always oversaturated with colour and look toylike and unrealistic. If they were just left as they were or with minimal processing they'd look a lot better. Doing this strips them of any atmosphere, which is totally counterproductive to their point.

I'm with you...why do people do this to perfectly good pics? Do they have some kind of dopamine deficiency? STOP IT.
