So after a lifetime of subsisting on prebuilt lower mid range PCs and running stuff at 20 FPS I finally worked my ass off long enough to get a top of the line custom machine.

I am basically set on the CPU, RAM and Graphics Card (tho I am willing to consider different models of the 780ti as I am not too sure what exactly the difference between them is).

Would appreciate any advice on the other parts to either improve performance with a small increase of cost or drop the cost without any real impact on performance so i can maybe buy some food in January. ^^

So here are the parts so far:

You've got quad channel RAM there; your motherboard supports dual channel, so get two 16gb kits (if you really need that much RAM) or go Ivybridge-E instead of Haswell.

The motherboard is expensive. Is there any particular reason you chose it?

Post your budget: some of the General Hardware locals will have some fun with it ;)

EDIT: Speak of the devil...

Also I believe some people have been having problems with that PSU, maybe get a Superflower alternative :)

Picked the motherboard because it was the cheapest in the high end system builder. ^^

That is a component I really know quite little about, so I would be fine with a cheaper one as long as it does not impact gaming/editing performance.

I'm fine with changing most parts as long as there is no real impact on performance or reliability.

As far budget goes, i would really like to keep it under 2100, which this thing so far fails to do. Ideally it would be about 1900 - 2050.

Part timer? You're like an old sage who comes down from his mountain retreat to impart his wise counsel whenever someone has over £1500 to spend on a new PC.

 I do pop into cheaper builds as well ...... given that I never stay on budget but that's another story :p;)

I will just leave this here then ....

Ram 16gb as you mention editing tho could save £50/£60 with 8gb kit as is good amount for gaming, 32gb is overkill for 99% of usage

Psu 650w good for single GPU, if planning sli/xfire go with 850w. I've chosen seasonic tho current poster child seems to be the superflower

GPU 780ti overkill unless going for high res gaming(3x monitors or 4k), 780/290 good for upto 2560x1600 res

Edit: damn a few replies while I was typing especially from the 'modmaster'.
Add the orange psu extenders for the ethermaster touch :p

Ok, thanks for the builds!

Looks like everyone is suggesting a dual graphics card build over the 780Ti.

So far I'm leaning towards the build of Mr Doomedspeed. :)

Just need to add a proper Blu-ray drive tho.

Was also wondering about the Corsair Obsidian 750D case and how good the dust filter on it is. My place is dusty as hell so I need something solid for that to keep my rig from clogging up in a couple of months.

Doomedspeeds is the same as mine just white ;)

Why do you need an Blueray drive?? I use Sky "NOW" box office or netflix and not touched a disk in years ..... apart from today to install Windows XP on my sisters netbook.
