Gran Turismo 6

You don't have to max tune every car you buy! Most are in their comfort zone with a few choice mods. Few cars are easily drivable with stage 3 engine tuning and high RPM turbo. ..

maybe if custom wheels get fixed this may change a little but the rule is don't over tune and don't use custom wheels. ..
 
Finally getting somewhere now after changing from comfort tyres! Got my first license and gold cup and slowly getting the hang of it :)

I've got GT5 but never played it, is it worth hammering it before the servers go down or should I just skip it?

What's the deal with custom wheels?? All my cars have them and some of them even at stock (ehem f40) are next to impossible to keep in line..

We think it's a bug.

In real life most powerful cars have staggered wheels, I.e wider rims at the back. When you put custom rims on the rears are the same as the front. So you lose loads of rear end grip and spin the wheels easier. Best advise is to ignore custom wheels and go back to standard.

I knew something was up! :) I drove f40 before putting bbs'es on and it drove fine after that I couldn't keep it in line lol.

I'd say not to bother with GT5 now if you are already on GT6, the two play very differently.

Stick with GT6, get some time&miles under your belt and it will soon start to come together for you.

Does the game let you patch 1.01 first? is so read below, the money situation is not so bad if you log in 5 days in row you now get credit 200% bonus also the season events earn a lot of credits.

No the patch is automatically 1.02. Only way you can glitch is if you have a spare hdd with 1.01 on it or know someone who does.

I.e you can't let one patch install, time it right and pull the lan cable and boom your on 1.01. Doesn't work like that.

Get off your high horse! I'm only asking the question, having not turned a lap yet.

To be honest I don't enjoy the single player modes grinding against the AI. I've bought GT6 for online league racing since Forza 5 had all the features removed/stripped out. If I can shortcut my way to the tasty race cars and play with my mates then I'll be happy.

EDIT : It's downloaded 1255MB of patch, went straight to 1.02.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring three new time trial events exclusive to the Lancia Delta HF, Honda S2000 and the 15th Anniversary cars.

Events are contested with no more than 450PP with Comfort/Soft compounds or less for the Delta HF Hot Lap challenge, 470PP with Comfort/Soft compounds or less for the Honda 2000 Hot Lap challenge, and 631PP with Racing/Hard compounds or less for the third and final round of the 15th Anniversary Cars Super Lap Challenge. Racers are to aim for the gold award in this week’s challenges as they’ll be richly rewarded.

This week’s challenges are as follows:

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione Hot Lap: Tsukuba Circuit
Period of Availability: 1/1/2014 22:00 – 1/29/2014 22:00
Gold: Cr.430,000 Silver: Cr.240,000 Bronze: Cr.80,000

Honda 2000 Hot Lap: Matterhorn Rotenboden
Period of Availability: 1/1/2014 22:00 – 1/29/2014 22:00
Gold: Cr.570,000 Silver: Cr.360,000 Bronze: Cr.120,000

15th Anniversary Cars Super Lap Round 3: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

Note, in order to enter the Seasonal Events you must first acquire your National B license.

See, I kinda get what you're saying but I have a 400 million dollar garage+ and you know what, the best and closest racing I have is online using cars like a RX7 tuned to 450pp or a 500pp BMW M3.

Other online series, used a 207 GTI no mods last night, and then cars ranging from the Civic 1500 to the MX5 NA 89 in close shuffle racing series of races with many people finishing within a second of each other over a number of laps.

You don't need a Sauber C9 to have fun close racing:) But going out and doing some doughuts on a track can be fun, but it is relatively short lived!

Like I said, the patch is 1.02 when you download it, you don't have the option for 1.01. That patch is no longer served up by the PSN servers.
 
Does anyone have any decent knowledge about LSD settings? When fitted to a car I find that some cars are un drivable when breaking / lifting off the throttle. I get massive amounts oversteer!

I know using Sports tyres might be a factor but then I can control initial power input with the throttle coming out of a corner quite easy with the traction control set to 1.

Thanks, I did. I walked into game and it was the headline offer for £29.99. Found a new copy of Cross Edge too for £14.99 lol sealed!

I've only done the first few sunday cup bits but besides the framerate I really like the game. I don't think it provides the thrill of going full whack on forza 5 but then the events and championships on forza 5 are boring limited and a little more than unrewarding whereas this throws cars and tracks at you constantly with new car types and seasons all the time.

Additionally I've played forza 5 for many hours without actually upgrading a car as the game does it for you automatically which takes that classic gran turismo fun out of things. I'm alternating between this and Hyperdimension Neptunia at the moment with a bit of Max on the x1 too.
