New Power Supply?

OK gonna hit the buy button.. just slightly a bit hasty on not wanting to get the Corsair 850w instead of the season 750w.

seasonic http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-042-SS
corsair http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-155-CS

i mean i dont really care about favoring one or the other its just people haven't exactly stated why the seasonic is so much better than the corsair

pc wattage calc says I would need 1kw to power 3 hard drives, 1ssd, 6 120mm fans, an overclocked i5 4670k, 2 r9 280x and additional pci equipment (e.g my soundcard - STX and network adapter aswell as fan controller)

try this one

its the most accurate i believe

edit. the seasonic 750w will be fine if you dont go mental with overclocking.
but if you are really bothered and peace of mind and all that get a 850w, there is nothing wrong with the rm850 just they use slightly lower end components in them,
the antec is made by seasonic which is one of the best manufactures of psu and dont use lower end components

Minimum PSU Wattage: 911 W

I don't know why its so high... this is considered without gpu ocing.

I included all of the things mentioned on post 25... and it adds to 911W with 25 percent cap aging.

When are the bequiets in stock? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-069-BQ do they spin on like 60 percent usage or do they spin only above a min threshold?

I hate the silverstones awful braiding quality though..

You will not need a 911w PSU for your system even with 2 r9 280 GPU'S.

750w Seasonic will be fine.

Edit: Just checked the Extreme PSU calculator and they recommend a 680W PSU.

(You did only choose one Physical CPU as if I choose 4 I get 931w!)

Yes.. they still recommend a 900w psu without ocing.

can you show me what settings you used? did you include : 3 SATA 7200 Drives, 1 SSD, 6 High perf 120m fans, 2 r9 280x, i5 4670k...

also if i upgrade to an i7 4770k (recording help maybe?) will it still be good enougih to run with my 750w seasonic... and will the i7 benefit be worth around £50+

I used one Physical CPU.

The 4670k CPU overclocked to 4.4ghz with 1.30v.
And what you put in your opening post.

My system with a 4770k, Asus TOP 7970 gpu several fans and hard drives and I pull 330w at full load from the mains.

Seasonic will be fine with a 4770k.

what PSU calculator are you using?

Can you post a print screen - also your sure you not chosen 4 cpus?

You have too options:

A) listen to what everyone is telling you and get a 750-850w psu

B) give in to your paranoia and get a well overpowered unnecessarily over expensive 1kw+

How about

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-011-EA

That should have enough power to power(pun intended) pretty much anything you throw at it(well maybe apart from if you're a extreme oc'er running quad sli/xfire running furmark, heaven etc all at the same time). :p

hmmm

lol fowler didnt even know 1.5k watts existed in psus

so im curious to find out why the watt calc says i need 1k though while others are getting only 750w.. must be a glitch or something

Also you have put in 2 PCI-E x 1 cards, try removing these.

Another also :D read my post on the previous page regards my system. (Post 30)
