Vegas advice!

Me and my missus did a similar trip recently (october).

We stayed at the Hard rock Hotel, a lovely hotel but way off the strip. As said above the Mandalay looks lovely. :)

As for the drive we went from LV to San diego then fron San diego to LA.

The drive to san deigo was freeway, so a bit boring but we had fun. The plan was to visit death valley on one of our 'off days' but wee spent that at a pool party instead.

You drive through death valley to get to San fransisco. Which sounds a epic drive. Then you can drive down the coast to LA. Which is stunning (we took a day from LA and drove up the coasat for a bit).

San diego was a higlight of the trip for me, a stunning city with a fair amount of things to do. A really relaxed friendly place, with a lovely mexican influence. I loved it

The drive from San diego to LA was lovely too. We went up the coast, the views were amazing.

We stayed in LA for 7 days which we felt at the time was too long but looking back on it, we didn't have to rush anything. We had a few days out at the beach (santa monica, Zuma, huntington) and time to visit universal studios (which id reccomend).

In LA itself theres not a huge amount to do but it was fun to find new and interesting resturants/bars (rainbow grill and house of blues we the favourites).

I hope this helps in some way! :)

You picked a pool party over Death Valley, one of the most unique places on the planet :(

I'd say it depends who was at the pool party :p

Dude, you ain't going on "that trip" believe me :D

lol my bachelor days are well over

I wish I'd been here in those days and possibly Prague and the Dam!! : but I know if I did it would have been a bit messy with the people i know

I'm going back later this year and will be stating at PH again. The rooms are decent and the location is brill. :)

We did San Fran - Vegas, through Yosemite National Park and Death Valley (it was raining ) - an overnight stop in Bishop.

Well worth that drive  On the way back we went to LA and that was a lot less interesting, although LA itself was great.

The first time we went to the grand canyon it was foggy - the second time (a year or so later in March) it had snow in it. So much for the Arid state!

Hotel wise, on a budget NYNY was good, as was Excalibur.
