** SAPPHIRE CUSTOM 290's ARE ON THE WAY!! **

Any new developments on the ETA of the Tri-X 290X as i was hoping for a delivery on Monday (Not happening now!) Its being delivered to a POS shop near me as its a UPS point of delivery. Im back in work next week! eeep!

I sold all my old cards on the bitcoin mining craze early December on the hope the 290X custom cooler would be out earlier than this! Had no gaming for ages!

Sat here hoping! Sigh!

Hi mates.

I was just wondering. I have ordered the R9 290X tri-x but my order is still at the "in our warehouse queue" for last two days. Anyone else with the similar status? Just asking to find out if they are in stock or its a preorder? When I was ordering, 9 were availble at the time.

Cheers for the help or info. Am without a graphic card because I sold my reference 290x, hence the impatience.

Also interested in any updates on the 290 Tri-X.
Pre-ordered one of the 290 Tri-X's on the 26th hoping for a Saturday delivery on the 28th, but stock didn't arrive on the 27th :(
I noticed that there is stock for the 290X Tri-X but not the 290 version, just wondering when the 290 Tri-X's will be coming? I'm eager to get my hands on my new toy :D

I'm in pretty much the same situation mate, one would think that Sapphire would send the 290 and 290x stock in one go, strange that the 290x is in stock but not the 290, i would have thought that would be like Nintendo sending Pokemon Black But not White if you catch my drift. (Sorry terrible example, i know.):)

I was told the stock was expected this week, last week. so we will see, delivery before the weekend would be stellar, but if OCUK don't have the stock there's not much we can do but wait. (i've been stuck with this HD 4870 for years damnit! i need this upgrade sooooooon.)

Yeah, hopefully it be this week, i'm in no real rush just eager to get my hands on it :D
This type of thing happens every time I order a GPU though, I swear i'm cursed. Doesn't happen with anything else I order but every GPU I have ever ordered (from various places) there have been delays or something goes wrong with the delivery :(

I'm sure OCUK will get them out as soon as they can though, just have to play the waiting game :)

Was going to get this but it due to the delay will probably get the MSI Gaming Edition instead as that is due pretty soonish and has better warranty.

I know this doesn't really help anyone, but my 290 (not x) turned up yesterday after being picked up from OC on Monday. Pre-ordered it a day or two after Xmas I think.

Interested in 2 Sapphire 290(non x) Tri-X cards to crossfire to replace a 6990 for eyefinity (5760 x 1080). Should yield twice at least the performance which is my threshold for upgrade.

Was tempted by reference cards but given that I will likely get 2 cards I was worried about the temperatures given that cards will likely be close together in crossfire. However, the reference cards seem to push heat out of the case but am I correct in thinking that the tri-x cards dump the heat in the case ? They are very good at cooling the GPU, looking at the reviews, but I am wondering if that will cause difficulties with the cards so close together ?
