*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I agree there is an issue. I hope it is software and fixable but I suspect not

I just think some people should should stop chucking the baby out with the bath water.

Just to add something positive here :

Googles customer service is fantastic. They are all polite, know what they are talking about and seem genuinely interested in your problems. The guy could hear the phone cutting out on video playback (sound) and asked how I'd like to proceed.

Just supremely happy to speak to polite people I can understand!

Did you get one of the people in the USA? They are really good from experience.

So do people think it's software or hardware ?

In the linked thread a few people confirming.

"I can confirm, I just used ASR Sound and Voice Recorder and turned off "Use Echo Cancellation" and the audio was perfect! This must mean it is software related (and has more to do with the noise cancelling mic)?"

We are all running the same software are we not 4.4.2 ?
If so could that not rule out it being a software problem.
Different batches of phones (hardware) but who knows what changed in the batches apart from the speaker holes and the buttons.

Glad you had a good experience :).

Genuinely I just wish it worked as it should. I turned it on and was just in awe compared to my 4s screen size!

Unfortunately though, the camera is too slow, the video sucks and chops audio out and my mother told me I was in a submarine when I called her..... Shame but I'm not taking a chance on another.

From first full charge. 14hours standby and 3.5hours screen on time. Still got 35% charge left. Really good it seems.

15hours standby now. Still 35%.

I'm going to send this one back and wait a month or two and get another. I love the screen and love the phone. I just don't want something that people can't hear me properly on and won't record video.

To those of you who have got one that works perfectly congrats. Its an utterly fantastic piece of kit, apart from the flaws and issues some are having.

I was thinking about doing the same thing.

When I got a 2012 Nexus 7, just after it came out, I had three, all with issues, so I gave up.

Three months (or so) later, I tried again and the first one I got was flawless, with no issues.

It's early days still; LG still have to work out all the issues and they will, I'm sure.

Mine seemed totally fine.. until today :') Seems to of killed itsself.. Won't turn on won't do nothing. can get to custom recovery.. I assume this means im re-flashing :') ?
