My imaginary flooded car.

Run off gathers where it settles. Where the hell did I say "3ft of water running down a hill"???????????

So why not pull over? Some of those areas run uphill, why not pull into one?

You say it gathers where it settles so how many floods did you drive through? Either you drove through many or you couldn't be arsed to stop and decided to plough on in a car stuck in 1st gear with no lights.

What happens if someone coming the other way decided to do an overtake and ploughed into you head on at 60+ as they couldn't see you trundling along with no lights on until it was too late?

None of this makes any sense to me.

To the OP, I would just ask the thread to be closed. What is there to gain from further discussion? More character assassination? A few insults?

This is the internet and what people say on it, or think of what you put upon it is entirely their prerogative, and you cannot change that.

OP has edited all previous comments. Very strange. Insurance job hasn't occurred to me before but could it be to remove incriminating comments? Seems very odd. For the record OP admitted knowing the road well, hence feeling ok to drive in dark with no lights... so surely would have known where deep water settles in rainy times.

Early candidate for thread of 2014.

I find it odd he's deleted all his comments! Who's good with google cache? ;) I'd imagine if by some miracle he was to get done for insurance fraud that the content of his posts is only marked as changed on the forum (ie the original is still safe?)

He would have got done for insurance fraud since he uploaded pictures of his car.

He seems to have deleted them from the website he had uploaded them to.

Screams FRAUD to me.
