I just tried both and it seems better with more cotton, although I think you prob waste more juice using more cotton but I don't care because DIY juice is cheap. Also tried a dual coil on the IGO-W and the wire snapped so I got annoyed and used single, the airflow with 1 coil is about right so dual will prob not work as well anyway. Would be cool if a company comes out with some sort of auto dripper, for example you push the power button it drips a drip from a tank onto your coil and then heats it.

I cant remember if i have asked this before, but with the kayfun, how high should the coil be in general, i can fit a 1mm drill bit under mine - i still cant work out what im doing wrong with this, seriously its all down to me and not the kayfun i just seem to have gone all stupid when it comes to coiling/wicking it.

About 1mm sounds good to me.
here is a guide here showing the same http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/32981/kayfun-3-microcoil-cotton-guide

@Ham i use a t-juice bottle to fill my Kayfun 3.1 clone, it fits perfect.
If you have a 3.1 and dont have on one these, then get some of these instead

Are you doing it straight from the standard juice bottle? A chap at work was having problems similar to yours and using a needle-tipped bottle sorted it.

Ham my clone just has a grub screw that i have to unscrew to fill my 3.1 where as some of the other clones have a proper valve.
The T-juice bottle tips fit mine perfectly, so i use them all the time now.
I have read that if its a proper valve, a metal tipped bottle can and will damage the valve.

This is what I have now. Maybe too much? I need to lift the coils a bit, but it spreads the coil open of I do :(

Glad you're enjoying the different res wire mate - there's nothing wrong with filling the deck with cotton (Gawd knows I sent you enough!), but I've found that it doesn't wick up to the coil very well, so I tend to use the amount in my picture and just drip more frequently.
The cotton is thirsty stuff, so it'll eat a couple of dozen drops easily with the amount I use - enough for a good vape (5-10 deep draws) before re dripping. Less is more...

:)

Hey NirK, I'm glad you tried the IGO-W, that's the dripper I want to get but was concerned the draw would be too tight as people seem to mention. I'm guessing the people that experienced that were using dual coils. I only ever intended to use single coil. So, with single coil and no widened/re-drilled airhole, are you finding the draw comfortable that you don't feel it's important to widen it?

It is alright with a single coil if you line the airholes up with the coil, I think it would be too tight with dual coils as it is almost too tight with one coil, might get a file and try to open them up slightly but I would only want about 10-20% more airflow. Its pretty good with a single coil, I did try to widen the holes with various implements and it does seem a bit better now but I will get a file and do it properly. It is quite a nice draw already with a single coil but I am a perfectionist.

I got a new drip tip today and the airflow is better now, so if you buy an IGO-W then get a wide / tall drip tip and it will improve the airflow so that it is about right, I got a 35mm tall one with a wide opening and now the airflow is good, prob won't bother trying to drill the airholes now, just make sure you only use single coil, dual coil is a pain in the *** anyway.

Very pleased with my new setup, Vamo v5 SS, Single coil IGO-W, Wide bore drip tip, pretty much perfect, except I need to get a washer for the gap and then I will be happy with it lol. Sorry about the photo the camera is crap.

I've just re-coiled a protank head for the first time with a micro coil and cotton, did about 8 raps, it tastes pretty good but it came out at 3.1ohms and i cant for the life of me remember if my kanthal is 28 or 32 gauge.

Sounds like 32awg to me as 28awg will give you lower oHms (roughly 50% of 32awg iirc)

5 wraps of 0.2mm / 30awg, gives me around 2 ohms. 6 wraps about 2.2ohms. Anything thicker takes too long to heat up.

I've just tried 5 wraps and it came to 1.8ohms but it was crap to say the least, crap flavor and vapour, what do you use to wrap it, i'm using a 1.5mm drill bit.

With protank the largest thing that will fit in the slot, with RDA about 1.8-2mm
