Project C.A.R.S on 4 Titans and 3 4K screens

Assetto Corsa is very good sim but its still beta and has no multiplayer yet so you can only hotlap on your own.

Physic and gfx all very good and its cheap which is always nice.

If you want to race others online the best sim is Iracing but that isn't cheap with its subscription and then having to buy cars and tracks but as online racing goes Iracing is the best.

I have both sims and looking forward to AC getting multiplayer and more cars and tracks.

Heres a video you might like about Greger Huttu the worlds fastest alien and how he did when he tried a real race car.

That was pretty incredible and thanks for the link. 1:24.8 laptop time, which they said was beating some of the other guys.

Gregster that guy has been the best sim racer in the world for 15 years that I know off.

He is many times Iracing DWC which has a $10000 prize for the winner and 6k for second place.

This is his qual lap in the Williams at Suzuka last season

Very impressive. I am not really a driving game fan but that set up he has is awesome. I bought a steering wheel on the original PlayStation and it was terrible. No smoothness at all but I can see how they can actually aid the game for a better experience as well.

I bought into PCARS a long time ago and have watched as month after month the graphics and content have improved while the physics have remained at turgid. It is a beautiful looking game, and I use the term game deliberately because as far as physics go it's a joke and it renders it well short of "sim".

Anyone who thinks PCARS has accurate physics should go jump in the Lotus 49 with "pro" setting selected. No aids, no traction control or stability control etc. I can apply full throttle from standstill on a joypad button and the car just tracks perfectly straight ahead like a train on rails.

What? The physics is what has been progressing the fastest, especially since they have been doing the daily updates for team member+ these past few months. Have you not played pCARS for a while because I remember that for a while the lotus 49 was using a modern tyre tread which was giving it way too much grip, simply because they hadn't made a vintage tread for the new tyre model at the time. Its been fixed for months though

Assetto Corsa now downloading. I wish I bought it in the steam sale but oh well, live and learn and £30 isn't much if it is decent. :)

Spanking Texan and PGI have convinced me for 3D :D

I tried it on the very latest Steam build just before posting as I did not want to make a liar out of myself. Go try the Lotus 49 and apply full throttle from stop, it will track directly forward with no hint a spin or losing control. Even with pro settings it does this.

Regardless of what the devs say about their physics, no way on this earth that should happen. Ergo PCARS physics are not realistic, ergo crap. Simples :)

Nice, just remember it's still an Early Access (alpha) game and it's a simulation game rather than an arcade racer. I have high hopes for it, can't wait for AI and multiplayer to be released.

Should be some AI available on the 17th next Friday in the special events section of the game.

@ Gregster: AC is stunning in 3D. Jump in the P4/5, hit the ctrl and F5 keys to set the 3D cockpit to your liking, my first thought was I was in the cockpit of a starfighter lol, you'll see what I mean when you give it a go.

The P4/5 in 3d cockpit is simply amazing, a shining advertisement for 3dvision. Bum clenching while turning isn't something I've ever had to do in a racing game before :p

I've just done some testing of my own and it turns out we are both right. With my Logitech G27 I need to steer a considerable amount (usually to the right) when I start. However, when I plugged my controller in and used that instead it went straight as an arrow. So, I apologise for snapping at you, but I hope you can see why I did. My only thought is that it has something to do with the gamepad filters because that is the only input difference between the wheel and the controller. When I'm driving with the controller it almost feels as though i'm driving with driving aids even when I'm not.

I'll ask the devs about this and see what they have to say about it.

Ps. are you also deleting your profile? most people dont realise that steam cannot delete your profile and you really ought to delete it for each new build. i genuinely dont know why they havent publicised this more in the physical game

pps. sorry for cluttering up this graphics thread with physics rants

Nothing to be sorry about and good info.

As for Assetto Corsa, I have had a quick play and stunning. The engine sounds are spine tingling good and 3D..... top notch.

I proper recommend this and well worth the £30. Very high frames as well, so I will have a play with downsampling.
